And could only take one Gospel related book with you, other than the Standard Works, what would it be and why?

For me, it would be Jesus The Christ by Talmage. I’ve read it several times and always feel inspired and closer to the Savior.

oh man, I think it would either be the "Sermons and Writings of Bruce R. McConkie", "Five Classics" by Truman G. Madsen or "That all may be Edified" by Pres. Packer

That's the doctrinal basis for almost everything not explicitly  spelled out in scripture.

I try to stay very close to home so there is little chance I would ever end up on an island.

William James Varieties of Religious Experiences, so that I would know it is perfectly rational to have religious experiences on a desert island, and that I am not losing my mind.  :)

Edit:  I personally believe it is a relic of an earlier dlspensation either that we do not know about or perhaps the scriptures, altered through time,  from a settlement of people from an earlier dispensation.  The "wise men" - magi- who visited Jesus were probably Zoroastrian seeking the Messiah through their own scriptures, and found Him.

Zoroastrian roots go back to India and Persia and therefore there was a lot of opportunity to interact with Judaism so who knows?  What about those Midianites who had the Melchizadek Priesthood- Jethro who ordained Moses?

I do love Jesus the Christ.  I might choose Even This: Getting to the Place Where You Can Trust God with Anything by Emily Belle Freeman though.  It's an awesome book too and would probably help, should I ever need to trust God's plan for leaving me on a desert island.

All The Good Place episodes, All the God Friended Me episodes, Bill Murray's Scrooged and Ground Hog Day, Douglas Adams complete works (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy), A Course in Miracles, All the (new version) Battlestar Galactica episodes.  Maybe throw Rigoletto and Buttercream Gang in there.

I've straight up told my kids that Groundhog Day is the fifth standard work, and Douglas Adams is the sixth.

By “BofM,” do you mean the Book of Mormon? If so, wouldn’t that be included among the Standard Works mentioned in the OP?
