      Contact Us Broken   09/27/2016

Users, It has come to our attention that the contact us feature on the site is broken.  Please do not use this feature to contact board admins.  Please go through normal channels.  If you are ignored there then assume your request was denied. Also if you try to email us that email address is pretty much ignored.  Also don't contact us to complain, ask for favors, donations, or any other thing that you may think would annoy us.  Nemesis

SOCIAL HALL AND CHAT ROOM

These areas are for friendly discussion only: If you use them to argue, you will lose your privileges.

How do we talk about socialism as described by President Benson to LDS audiences? Is that prohibited since it's also politics?

How do you block a poster so you don't see their posts anymore?

Go up to the righthand corner and use the pulldown menu on your name.  Click on ignored users.  Type in the name of the poster you desire to ignore and then mark what you want to ignore.  I can't remember if it is a submit or save button or where it is, but I am pretty sure that it isn't automatic though it may have changed in the latest update.

Went and doublechecked...it is "add user" and it is right there below where you input the name once you unput it.  There is also a new option of ignoring "mentions" which I assume blocks when a person is quoted so you won't even read a person's comments in others' posts.

how do I read a warning I received?

I use to wonder the same thing, but realized if you don't sign in you'll be able to see what's going on on a thread you've been banned from. I've been banned plenty. Luckily not so much anymore, knock on wood.

I received notification from mormonhub

Quote

Political threads are now allowed on the site.  The rules have changed regarding IRS rules regarding political discussion so we now allow them.

 Is this now permissible here?

Is it acceptable to circumvent a ban?

Seriously?

Concerning banning. As I was just banned from a thread I was wondering if it would be possible for Administrators to somehow let us know what the reason was. Not so I or anyone else can argue the ban, but so we know why we were banned. It helps me know what to avoid as I am generally of an opposing view of most LDS members. It would help to know if I took an argument too far or it was felt I made a personal attack, etc. Thank you.

Read the guidelines.  Most of it is in there save a few cultural rules.

If you are wondering what a rule means, ask other posters.  Imo, it is pretty easy to figure out where someone crosses the line, though some few apparently have a problem with it, though it seems more to me they want to justify their behaviour more than correct it in many requests for clarifications.  Most do not seem to have issues catching on quickly as they manage to alter their behaviour enough to stick around if they care to.

Due to history, I am guessing the mods have decided responses to such requests are not effective enough to create positive change to merit the effort of response.

Pay attention to warnings (mostly written  in red in an offending post).  Do a search on the moderators' posts if you want to see posts that brought them out.

If you wish an explanation, you must first offer them a shrubbery.

You and the Nehor need to update the rules "People of all faiths, except people who lack faith, are welcome to engage in substantive and civil discussion" My feelings and questions are not welcomed here.

People here insult me and make fun of me, but you don't tell them anything. I am out of here, I don't need MDDB, and it is a waste of time even by church standards because there is no missionary work here.

You rarely find Sunday school topics on tithing, the Sabbath day, how recognize the spirit, home and visiting teaching, prayer, and other gospel principles that invite the spirit here.

Deleted because I should abide by mods' preferences as a guest on their board.

Just saying here I am not a mod if you were under that impression, MVG.
