How was there a trespass? And for accomplishing a bust, they seemed to have ruffled your feathers, enough for you to take note of them.

Tresspass...as in an encroachment or intrusion, to encroach on a person's privacy, time, etc.; infringe...

The members of Ordain Women were not invited. In fact, they were disinvited...but tolerated in their trespass for the sake of peace and not creating a media story.

It is not unreasonable to assume they were expecting a confrontation that would make the news. Hopefully this will dispel the myth that Mormonism is misogynistic. It's not like the Danites were there with dogs and firehoses to drive them away.

In the article I read a sister said they were treated very graciously and welcomed, after being reminded that the meeting was not for them.

I'm glad this didn't turn into a big issue and that the church chose to let them disobey the counsel they were given if they wanted too. In this instance it seemed stupid to make a scene.

I do find it odd though that the sisters (at least in the article I read) felt like they accomplished something by being let in.

What a coincidence.  The SLTrib reporters and cameramen just happened to show up at the Marriott Center at the same moment a half-dozen of these women were demanding entrance.

If you show up and quietly walk to your seat, I would be more tolerant of  your statement than when you coordinate your arrival with the local media.

Oh, goodness what has been unleashed?  Being an old fashioned woman, this is not understandable.

What if women are forced to be Bishops some day? I would not do what Bishops do. Mine has taken money to someone at 3:00 AM, been yelled at and threatened, and is much more patient than I am.

Old fashioned women.....rule!

The only thing they accomplished was to demonstrate to the Lord, to themselves and to those around them that they possess a rebellious and disobedient spirit. This is not an accomplishment any rational person would celebrate.

Spot on. Rudeness does not impress.

Yes, isn't that amazing? They must have bureaus, writers and correspondents in every city, town and hamlet across the length and breadth of this land.

Reminds me of a colleague I had many years ago. The story is told that at general conference time, he would walk over to Temple Square to get photos on the grounds. He would always carry a red umbrella with him. After a while, the editors began to wonder why the same red umbrella showed up in each and every one of his Temple Square photos.

I'll be excited when her 15 minutes of fame are up. She's making herself irrelevant.

Her reasoning is rather strange given her stated desire to hold the priesthood because of its value, etc. and then avoiding a meeting because the priesthood is present.

I was invited to participate in the Tooele/Grantsville/Stansbury (Utah, USA, for those of you in points hence ;)) choir that sang in the afternoon session yesterday.  One of the tie colors offered for men is purple, and that's the one I chose.  Does that mean, despite my public proclamations to the contrary, that I have latent sympathy for the aims of Ordain Women?  :unknw:

P.S.: Will any of the group's members attempt to attribute such sympathy to those of us who wore purple?

You are now officially an apostate and therefore anathema.

No more soup for you.

I don't know.  A change was made in the church and it's hard to argue that they where not instrumental in it.

Of course there are tribes across the world who save us all from destruction by chanting so that the sun comes up every morning.

It's also hard to prove that they are not instrumental in this happening daily, since they have been doing it for thousands of years.  Clearly they are the unsung heros of humanity.

I know. There seems to a necessity in demonstrating that they have had no effect on the church. I don't share that necessity.

Nor do I feel any need to acknowledge that they might have made a difference.  I don't share that necessity.

I was sick with a cold, so watched it at home. My wife crashed it, though.  I tried telling her that this is a priesthood venue and she should go away and watch it in her own little room. She told me to be quiet and pass the snacks.....

I was invited to the "bach pad" of some YSA's living down my street, but I forgot to check my phone about the invite.  Just curled up in bed with my laptop.  :lazy:

I would say OW is losing some stream by supporters just getting so down that they drop out. Did anyone listen to the panel they did at Sunstone?  :vader:  More and more people leaving.

Sorry sisters, you don't get the proverbial forum "First" for attending Priesthood session in the Marriott Center.  Many decades ago I went to Priesthood session in the Marriott Center with my dad as a 14 year old.  As we sat there, a guy I knew came into the meeting with his girlfriend and sat near us.  She may have been wearing pants.  No major kerfuffle ensued, with my only thought being it was odd for a woman to want to attend another church meeting on a date.

The event was so significant that when I asked my very conservative dad about this during Saturday's session he didn't recall it ever happening.

As I recall, the guy was the kind of person who wanted to show he was a rebel, so I guess his actions matched the OW modus operandi.

Perhaps the SL Tribune could look her up and fete her as a primordial Kate Kelly.

(I've mentioned this before on this forum but thought it worth repeating.)

Later on, my parents were missionaries in the Philippines and my mom would always attend the Priesthood session broadcast at 8 am local time.  Any chance to hear the prophet was something she is always up for.

However, some women have reported that they were not welcomed at their stake centers and were asked to leave and in fact, harassed until they did leave even after being seated. So water has yet to reach the end of the row.

Where can we read about these experiences mtomm?

No female showed up in my location. I would have welcomed them if they did try to come.

None at my location either, but then the men were pretty sparse too. By far the smallest congregation I've seen for General Priesthood but it makes sense with it available to watch at home.

My wife and daughters all watched it at home. My daughters said it was easily the best session and preferred it to the women's meeting.

It's also a favorite color of many women, as well as being used as a common 'awareness' color in bringing awareness to domestic violence and quite a few diseases.  I believe it also is used in support of Black History month, but maybe i'm remembering that wrong.

I have to admit that it bugs me that OW has attempted to take over the color purple, just as it bugs me that those who support gay and lesbian rights have taken over the rainbow.  It's one thing to say "if you support us, on this day and at this event, please wear this color".  It's way different to try to imply that anytime anyone or anything shows up in that color that they are implying support.

The takeover of the rainbow is especially interesting when you consider what the rainbow stands for.  It is a reminder of the covenant that God would not destroy the earth again by flood.  What was it that warranted the destruction by flood in the first place?  Some ancient documents suggest that homosexuality was a part of it (along with violence and general immorality).

Yes, because Ordain Women has NO history of exaggerating the facts after the event.

Oh, wait...

The one I read was shared privately on Facebook with pictures. Other's snarky comments aside I have no reason to believe this sister made up the story. She attempted to attend with her teenage son.

I don't really see why this has to happen. We'd never ask a man to leave the women's session.
