So .. you're the Soup Nazi of Seinfeld infamy, eh?  Who knew? :D

Just one of my many nefarious identities.  :spiteful:

The one I read was shared privately on Facebook with pictures. Other's snarky comments aside I have no reason to believe this sister made up the story. She attempted to attend with her teenage son.

I don't really see why this has to happen. We'd never ask a man to leave the women's session.

So is it just the one sister then?

I thought it would be interesting to hear about the experiences in more detail but i understand you can't share more if it was written privately.  :)

We'd never ask a man to leave the women's session.

I would if there wasn't enough room.

It doesn't have to happen.  If local leaders would pay attention to instructions from headquarters and made people aware of it, it wouldn't (unless it was a random man or two who took it upon himself to be a guard and the leaders weren't aware of his actions because they weren't in that part of the building)

If they weren't polite even if they barred her, then they are disregarding our leaders' constant teachings to love one another…again it doesn't have to happen.  People are choosing to act like jerks or not fulfilling their callings sufficiently by informing others of policies as they should inform them.

Is there any possible reason for a man to want to crash the Women's Conference? I can't think of one.

When you say shared privately on Facebook I assume you mean that she sent you a private message?  If that is so, then where are the snarky comments coming from?

I am not doubting her experience, because I could see it happening.  I have been in GC priesthood meetings at ward houses/stake centers where a woman attended with her husband.  I always just considered it a fluke and never thought about it.  However, in today's environment it would make me question motivation of the sister involved.  It still boggles me mind.

For next priesthood session:

Rent suit

Get men's shoes

strap pillow to front to simulate big gut.

leave wig at home. I have no hair.

Get ridiculous tie.

Avoid crushed hand from handshake.

Remember to use stall with door.

You are in and will fit nicely with the high priests.

Indeed.  (They weren't all that interested in paying attention at the first Priesthood session where they staged a publicity stunt:

Alright, you're not being fair.   There are a lot of guys there that aren't really interested in paying attention. ;)

I think that it is sad that Kate Kelly is so opposed to the Church that she misses the opportunity to be spiritually enlightened by other women. It makes her sound fanatically feminist and anti men.

In my stake, in the UK, apparently no woman attended the Priesthood session. OW is a huge non issue as far as I can tell and a lot of people don't seem to have heard of it!

I really like your common sense approach to this. Out side of this board this is essentially how I see it at church and I am in WJ Utah.

What a tremendous blessing you and your fellow saints enjoy.  Unfortunately, we in the US have this annoying, minuscule splinter.  Fortunately, it appears to be a passing fad that was easily handled and we are moving forward.  There will be other problems, but the Church will continue to move forward.

Yes, because Ordain Women has NO history of exaggerating the facts after the event.

Which got 2 rep points.

I might add that I have no idea if this women is a part of OW or not. She did try attend but I'm not sure that makes you a part of OW.

No one cares in California either.  Strictly a Utah thing.  No one even knows what a Mormon is here, except that Mitt Romney had a weird religion, much less a splinter of a religion no one knows about.

I've only seen Bishops and Stake Presidents at women's conferences, plus other men who are around to help with the audio visual stuff.

This is a disaster. It’s going to end up with the same way when women crashed into the work force and equal place in a marriage. We seen how that worked out. Men, cover up your pride, women are on  the rise. Why are women less than men? Is it a power trip men have???

Well, there's an unfulfilled condition if ever there was one!  Where in all of Mormondom is there a man brave enough to try to demand entrance to the Women's meeting, unless he had a particular reason to be there (i.e. was invited?)

Where is there one who's brave enough to try to crash Enrichment night?

There's always a guy who walks by and mooches our treats.  ;)  And we let them live.

None of the above.

In the Church, we have meetings where all members attend.

We also have meetings for particular groups.

Meetings for the children, for instance.

Meetings for all the youth (12-17.)

Meetings for young women only and meetings for young men only.

Meetings for all the adults.

And we have meetings for women only and meetings for men only.

I'm not invited to the meetings for women only, and I don't see any need to throw a tantrum about it.

The women are not invited to the meetings for men only, and most of them don't see any need to throw a tantrum about it.

And that's really all that needs to be said, AFAICT.

This is not a "disaster," and nobody is "less than" anyone else.

Pahoran

Best response ever, Pahoran. Thank you.

I cannot crash Relief Society functions because the mix of cosmetic odors in the room makes me nauseous.

I have been known to hang out in the hall to snag an occasional snack, though.

Perhaps all the men and boys attending Priesthood meetings should lay on the Axe, Old Spice, and Right Guard.
