Who heard the disruption?

That is sort of the point of descent. Hopefully I would be sitting near some local new reporter who felt offended enough to give my poor behavior the write up it deserved.

I think you meant to write "point of dissent." Although the word you did use might be more apt, as in descent into ill manners and incivility.

But I don't agree that dissent needs to be boorish.

This is interesting because i listened on my phone and didn't hear any disruption at all.  It must not have been very loud.

It was pretty loud. Some sources of the broadcast have about a 20 sec delay. I wonder if they are able to edit out things like that before it goes out.

It was audible enough on the TV transmission -- although not perfectly distinct. None of us could make out what was being said other than "sexual predators."

Whoever shouted out, waited until it was very quiet (the newly called were coming up to take their seats).  If you listen to the recording in the link, it was pretty loud (louder than I remember it being live but I wasn't really listening for it then...).

At the beginning of the sustaining, members were told how to make their dissent, if any, noted i.e., by contacting their Stake Pres.  As the sustaining proceeded, there was respect for the solemn assembly... but during the second session someone felt they had to disregard all that had been said, felt,  and done, and disrupt not only the meeting but the Spirit that had been felt... sigh...

Thanks Scott. It's a good rule of thumb that when the grammar police show up, they don't have a better rebuttal. But it is nice to know that when you're around no one is going to get away with dangling any particples.

I was there in person when it happened.  It was awkward. People are jerks.

Did they escort the lady out? (I’m assuming it was a lady.). Was there a group or just this single person involved?

Unwelcome shouting out during a sacred convocation for any reason is always inappropriate, boorish and disrespectful.

And churlish.  Churlish and disrespectful.

I didn’t see. I was down lower on the plaza.

Do you know for a fact they cut the mic, or did the guy just run out of steam?

Maybe the security guys took him down! ;)

It’s being posted elsewhere by those who were there that it was a woman (so it’s confusing).  Did you see who it was?

That’s interesting.  I suppose it could be a very manly sounding woman.  You can listen to the link in this thread to see, or hear rather, for yourself.

S.O indicate someone shouted out just before or during sustainings. Reddit forum reports what the statement was.

I don't know but I got this with my phone;

I thought it was a guy, but a lady says here:

seems to say at the 48 sec mark "she was sitting right across from us." It is too bad people are starting to do this, and similar things at the last few conferences.

Not sure how people don't understand that there is a proper way to address these concerns. In fact they constantly repeat it in conference.

Because the proper way (going to one’s Stake President) generally means that your concern will not be communicated any further.

I only understood it the 3rd time, but if they cut the mic close to the shouter, they didn't cut other mics, because I specifically listened to the sounds of the people walking to their seats behind the podium.  Stop sexual predators.

I'm a little disappointed they were yelling something about "sexual predators."  I couldn't understand them, and for a moment thought the gift of tongues had returned to the Church.

This link actually interviews the woman who was yelling.  Her name is Crystal Legionaires.  Not only does she sound like a man, but she also looks like a man with long hair who dresses like a woman.  My guess is that she is a transgender :unknw:

Not that that has anything to do with anything, other then to explain why I thought it was a man screaming.

People that do things like this have only one motive for doing it and that is to get their mugs on the camera and get their 15 seconds of fame.
If they were truly faithful members of the church they would not cause a disruption like this.
