General Conference

That conference came off without a hitch, IMO. It ran so seamlessly! The one cringe I had was when a speaker shook hands with Pres. Nelson, unless I saw wrong. It was one of the first talks, and I'm sure he totally forgot. So hoping all the speakers will stay safe and free from getting anything. I was impressed by the talks. I am glad Pres. Nelson brought up the pandemic and liked his idea of another fast. I'm terrible at fasting, but might give it a go!

Ok Thank you my friend. I just wasn't sure to what you were referring. Of course trinitarians believe that the three persons of the Godhead can be in three different places at the same time; or can appear in different and separate forms at the same time. I don't see why a trinitarian would discount the first vision as portrayed in The Pearl of Great Price.

Then you would be alone among normative Christians, who have been lambasting Mormons for generations now for their non-Trinitarian beliefs.  You have been spending far too much time among the Mormons, Phil.  You appear to have become infected by their heresy.  You may just as well seal the deal by making a baptismal date with your local LDS missionaries (if there are any still out there in the midst of the Pandemic).

Yeh, I saw that too, and wondered what that guy would say if the Prophet got COVID-19 and croaked just because of that careless action.  Or was it the Prophet himself taking the initiative?

Tacenda I’ll do it with you.  I’m bad too.  We will do it together

Sounds good to me! :)

I don't think it's ordination yet.  A stepping stone by way of more shared responsibility seems a more likely move.

Nothing said during the just-concluded session of conference — which focused largely on the doctrine of the priesthood and included talks from the Relief Society general president, a young woman, a young man, an apostle and all three members of the First Presidency — in any way foreshadows what you are predicting.

The height of the arch in the image linked here seems to me different than the one I saw in the video. Or is that just me?!

And God cannot move people into a position to train them for other responsibilities and to meet the leaders to choose them?

That's what you wonder, it seems though that he moves them into a tiny pool from the larger ocean, are we open to him moving people or do we block him by picking your old mission buddy?

I phased out for a moment (not much sleep lately), is there one tomorrow and then on Friday?

yes and Matthew Holland as a new GA, but we don't believe in nepotism, no, no🤔 you wonder with all these relations if these guys can get jobs on their own with help from Dad

I don't know Matthew but I was in the same dorm with his brother David Holland back in the day at BYU.   David was a very impressive guy even at that age.   I could have guess back in 1995 he would be a GA one day.  Sometimes it does run in the family.  Regardless better them than me.  I don't aspire or desire such positions.   I rather be the fly on the wall than at the front talking.

That was a little confusing.  We were thinking he mispoke.  So you think it is two then.  Could be.

He said that beginning tonight, we should fast as part of this conference. Then, he said we should observe Good Friday (next weekend) with yet another special fast.

I’m open to correction if I misunderstood, but at the moment, I don’t think so.

That’s my understanding. One beginning tonight in connection with this conference and then one on Friday.

I'm guessing one since Good Friday was the only one mentioned in the newsroom.

I could have sworn he said tomorrow and then April 10. Maybe last minute he decided we should do both and the newsroom was going on previous info.

Probably be up relatively soon as the other sessions are already.

He did say both.  The way he worded it though made us think here in my house that he mispoke and meant good Friday.

The reports I’m reading now only talk about one fast, not two, so apparently I misunderstood. Sorry for the confusion.

That is fantastic!  I was afraid by the way he described it, and by what I imagined, that it would look busy and disjointed (I was imagining a three dimensional stone).  This one is simple, clean, and beautiful.  Pretty powerful actually.

What a weird sight to see Temple Square empty.

That struck me as well. Last time I was there, buses were pulling up to the tabernacle to let tourists out. Not so today.

I was also struck by how green the grass was!
