I apologize if that has already been discussed. On a family group chat a sister in law brought up the following: "With this being the 200 anniversary of the First Vision, with the whole Church celebrating this, Satan will do all that he can to disrupt it". I thought it was interesting.

I would think it they are canceling Stake Conference they will cancel weekly meetings as well.

ETA: Correction. That was in 1919. And it was a postponement, not a cancellation. 
 

A cancellation came in October 1957, due to the Asian flu outbreak.

Or something as safe as that at least, but preferably better looking.  Hopefully a clothing designer will come out with something soon that looks nice and is also fully functional as a safe suit.  I see a need for these now and it could also be a fun thing to wear too.

You are confusing the Sacred Grove with the Hill Cumorah. Not the same thing at all!

Well, I wasn't around for either of those so this will  be my first exposure to a pandemic, I believe.   I was born in 1961 so I just missed that one in 1957.  I suppose I will see how something like this works out, hopefully with my family surviving it all.

Because it hit at the table end of World War 1 and most of the world powers were involved the press was heavily censored including news of the flu because it might give propaganda to the enemy or expose weakness. Spain was neutral and were one of the few nations whose journalists were reporting it reasonably accurately which gave the impression Spain had it the worst. Their king also reportedly got it at one point.

This could be as bad or worse than that pandemic and will probably infect more of the world’s population (Spanish flu got about a third of the world) but no one is confident of the mortality numbers yet so it is not clear if this has the potential to be worse yet or not.

That will be a first, and hopefully a last, God willing. Even worse, people in Georgia are loosing it, and literally fighting over “toilet paper“. In fact most stores no longer have any toilet paper, and fights have broken out, as many are trying to buy ever roll.

News from my missionary moms page about the remote MTC stuff.  She copied and pasted what was written by one of her prospective mission friends.  The missionary sister got an email from the church that said they would still be set apart and be required to follow mission rules, including clothing. They will mail books and name tag.  They will have 6 hours of online videos per day and personal study time. They will be assigned a companion remotely and will hold companionship study over video chat. They will be given missionary things to do during the evening and weekends so they won't be just "sitting around".
