I know where you’re coming from. You’ve been pretty open in your disdain for LGBTQ+ folks and your belief that they are coming for our children. I figure it’s better to make fun of that than believe that some people really are that threatened. 2

Can you please elaborate on how you "support" your friends as compared to "those who don't"? I'm trying to understand what you perceive to be the difference. What kind of "support" do you mean? 1

But I think it is a modern construct as well and yet I know I see there is massive pain at times because there is a lack of acceptance or even aggression targeting them. It is not a contradictory position to believe an identity has been developed culturally and to understand there is exclusion and other highly negative aspects. Just look at any caste system, which is easily recognized as cultural, but extraordinarily damaging to those on the lower rungs. 3

What is being condemned is Trojan-horse attempts at normalising unmistakably sexualised behaviour in front of minors. (Why people might be determined to do this is a completely separate topic!) That is not celebrated by BYU in any way, and you and your fellows know it. So let's take a look. This seems to be the worst shot used as examples of why the drag show is inappropriate and should be avoided by any TBM. Now lets take a screen capture of the Cougar cheerleaders. Which one is unmistakably sexualizing behavior in front of minors? You tell me. Cause I don't see much difference. Edited September 6, 2022 by california boy

Just look at any caste system, which is easily recognized as cultural, but extraordinarily damaging to those on the lower rungs. When someone consistently traffics in stereotypes about gay people, I tend to consider them as hostile at best. I have a gay son, and when I say anything here to stand up for him and call for tolerance, I’m called a useful idiot and an apologist for grooming. So, yes, that sounds like disdain to me. Do you really think I’m reading something that isn’t there? And there’s a huge difference between acknowledging a human construct and dismissing someone’s lived experience as just something white people want you to believe. 5

Yet there are those that are willing to comment on the drag show shot as being in appropriate for family viewing, yet the exact same kind of shot of the Cogars gets minus thumbs down. So tell me, why is one judged by one standard and the other one is not allowed? Both shots are taken out of context and are probably not appropriate. But it does blatantly show the hypocrisy. 2

Not because of the images themselves or because of why you are asking the questions, but because of the inappropriate escalation of trying to find images that push the limits, on either side. 1
