Tacenda
Wow, had no clue, thanks Stargazer! Or maybe some might not want everyone to know this helpful youtube when they have to get responses that cut up their original posts, lol. Link to comment

Calm
If you insert your cursor at the end of a paragraph, the first two returns will likely create a break. Iow, it will create a break only at paragraph ends, so you have to create a new paragraph to make a break if your quote doesn’t already end at one. Just in case it is easier to remember that way (it is for me, but perhaps my brain is weird). 2 Link to comment

InCognitus
You can also highlight a section of a post and then click the "Quote selection" tab that pops up at bottom of the highlighted piece (instead of using the "Quote" button at the bottom), as shown below: But if you are quoting multiple pieces of a post, you need to go back and forth to the original post to highlight specific pieces, and that can get awkward depending on how many posts are in between the edit window and the post you are quoting. But it works too. 1 Link to comment
Rain
It also works on mobile. Orthodox Christian
How can links to external sources be inserted or video clips please? Link to comment
Calm
Many can just be pasted in and it will be automatic. If not, try pasting into the add files box or the url into the other media option. Both are at the bottom on the reply box. Hopefully someone else knows how to describe it better. Edited July 26, 2022 by Calm Link to comment

The potential to have your posts cut up and responded to with inter-linear commentary goes with the territory here. Those who don’t like it can always say so in a rejoinder. Link to comment

Malc
Thanks, @Stargazer!! Very helpful. Now I need to go look for an explanation of how to make a quote-in-a-quote, and perhaps a "sandbox" to play in. Link to comment
marineland
That's very helpful. How do you also include a quote made by one person when you are in the midst of replying to another person? Link to comment

It’ll populate both of f them into your post. 1 Link to comment
