I like the changes.  You can see them in the online store if you have a current TR.  It's sooo slow though.  I think there must be a lot of online traffic, haha.

I was going to ask if anyone else is having trouble logging into the site, sounds like it is everyone. I haven't  been able to get in yet.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I haven't had success either, probably all those inmates at the Indiana State Prison taking phone orders🤑

I tried again and now the site states "We're upgrading our system to serve you better".

Could you describe the changes?

Perhaps there was once some symbolism in tying the cap to the robe, but no one knew what it was, so might as well remove it.

I think it was just to keep the cap from falling on the floor if it slipped off the head.

I always dislikes tying the hat to the robe as it would always pull when I moved my head so I never did, however some helpful brethren would usually do it for me.

I don't think every aspect of the clothing has symbolism, I have a talk by a former GA given in 1983 and he said that one part of the clothing is just "the way the...was put together" but it didn't symbolism anything

If only God had called you as the prophet JLH.  Think of all the wrongs that you could set right.   ;) :D

No.  If God had called me I wouldn't have changed anything to begin with.

Actually given the 1990 changes this change is profoundly appropriate.  What was lost in 1990 no longer has a visual representation on the clothing.

Kind of like a grounded pilot removing the wings on his uniform.  I have no problem with that.  They should remove other things too that are no longer representative of what little is still given.

I remember trying not to laugh out loud at my husband's cap. I was thinking that maybe that may be discontinued or altered, but I guess not.

Probably why He didn't call you. ;)

(I hope you know I'm teasing you.  I knew when I saw the announcement that it was going to set you off on the "the prophets aren't following God!" stuff, and I obviously disagree with you on that, but I appreciate your convictions.  :) )

And yes, the ties were significant.  But nobody understands anything anymore.

Do you have any references?

For what it's worth, back in the 70's, the Provo temple president told us the tie was just there to keep the robe from falling off the shoulder.

So the men had a tie but the women just had to lump it?

Exodus 29: 9 and there are others in the Old Testament.

I'll see if there's an appropriate reference to share.

Yes I had heard what the tie was called.  Sorry folks I will not state it online.

Exactly.

I wonder if what you are thinking is the same thing someone told my husband what it meant about 15 years ago when the man noticed he tied it wrong.  What he said would still work with the tie today.  That was the only time my husband ever heard anything about the tie.
