What's Your Current Church Calling?

Primary pianist - best calling ever!  Kids don't sing in harmony, so the chords are written in - anyone else here know what a "Fake book" is?  Chords = I get to jazz it up a bit :)

Messenger Boy.

Primary whipping boy. I take all the punishment intended for cranky, talkative, disobedient, pesky children (but they give me a share of any cookies and chocolate they happen to obtain).

Sunday School president, which can be the laziest calling if you want it to be, or quite a fulfilling experience.

What is your current work at church? I'm the Membership Clerk and also a Baptistry Coordinator in the temple.

I am a "Hunter". I have a list of 82 names of people who seem to have fallen off the earth and because I go out with the missionaries weekly...I go find them. If there or not there I report back.

Stake Missionary and Emergency Communication Specialist, not sure what it is actually called these days.

Interesting. My callings include one of yours.

1. Stake Emergency Communications Specialist (Ham Radio - WA7MC)

2. Singles Branch Finance Clerk (I'm married, though)

3, High Priests Group Secretary

4. High Priests Group Instructor (1 of 2)

5. Ward Website Administrator

They are apparently afraid that if I have too much free time that I will hurt myself. :D

I have the best calling out of everyone!! I get to help an awesome young man who has special needs! He must be a missionary early because he keeps me coming to church. And everyone he meets is a better person for having met him. I feel the leadership that asked me to do this was inspired because he has kept me from feeling totally lost and out of touch with my ward family.

Cubmaster and HP instructor. The latter is the easiest calling out there. We have a former Stake President, three former Bishops, I don't know how many former bishopric counselors, and at least two temple sealers in the HP group. I just introduce the topic, ask a couple of questions, and off they go. I just write on the chalkboard and nod approvingly.

When John Longhurst retired as Tabernacle Organist, I interviewed him. I asked him if he ever held a ward calling. He said when his schedule allowed, he was Primary pianist. You say you jazz it up; imagine what Brother Longhurst did! I thought: Lucky Primary! Edited by Scott Lloyd
