ERayR Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I earnestly seek your prayers. Saturday night my family and I, and our whole community, suffered a terrible loss. A very bright light in our lives went out. My sixteen year old granddaughter, who lved with me, died in a car wreck. She was a very remarkable young woman who touched many lives. She is being mourned by her family and literally the entire high school, including students, faculty and administrators. At every school activity this week, including, home coming activities she is being honored. She was, until her birtday in july, president of her Bee Hive class and was a third year seminary student. I tell you this to let you know how truly remarkable she really was. For those who knew her our world has suddenly become a darker place. With the loss of my wife not yet three months ago and now this I am a total mess. I am not alone. My entire family has been very deeply affected. So please pray for them.

Different circumstances, but same grief.All I can tell you is that time does not heal the wound, but it lessens the pain.But for now, all you can do is move forward through the pain and grief. Really, what other option do we have?The sun WILL come up tomorrow. And sincere condolences on the loss of your granddaughter.
Raingirl Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I am so sorry.I know the pain of losing a spouse and can only imagine the pain of losing a grandchild. And the shock and bewilderment and all those other feelings that pass through us during times like these. I am glad to hear you have people around to support you. I don't have helpful words to say but I do have the ability to get down on my knees and pray.

The day has brought an abundant outpouring of love and concern.The high school has turned homecoming week into Britani week, A musical goup from which she ordered a t-shirt and book were informed of what had happened and posted a beautiful post on her face book and today we received a tree of life to plant for her from them. It will be planted at the school. I was unaware that one sweet little girl could touch so many, so young. The regional newspaper is publishing a feature article about this. I am just over whelmed. It is just the load is heavy. As I said a very bright light is gone from my world. Thanks again for your prayers.

We are getting support fom seemingly everywhere. Literally many, many hundreds from people who knew her well, from people had only met her once and even those who had never met her and who seemed to feel the spirit of her through the published reports. Again thank you all. That I could write this without falling apart is proof they are working in my life. 1
