If you all will bear with me for a report on Britani.  We held her funeral today and it was beautiful.  The spirit was there in abundance.  Nearly 1,000 came to pay their respects and to honor her.  Now comes the part where I have to learn to carry the burden.

Thanks all for your prayers and if you could keep it up for just a little longer.  She was such a remarkable young woman it is going to take awhile.

Of course.  Hugs to you ERay!

Our sincerest condolences from across the water.  We cannot imagine the depth and breadth of your loss, but we can mourn with you and through the Spirit, lift up your hands.

May the Comforter be your constant companion.

I'm so sorry ERay. If you tell us your name, we can put your name on the temple prayer roll so you can have people in the temple praying for you.

It would be best that if ERay wants to share his info, he can PM it to those he trusts so they can put it in the temple.

Thank you Cal.  Our names are on the prayer rolls of several temples.  The prayers are having more effect in our lives than you will ever know.  I had a dream last night that for me answered the why.  For the most part we are doing good.  Still having trouble breaking down when talking about her but it is getting better.  Had a conversation with the mother of the young man she had taken home and he is still blaming himself so next Sunday afternoon we are going to their house.  I hope we can help him.

Thanks again all It has been a terrific shock and like all shocks it takes some time to recover.  If I were to post the life sketch of her short life you would understand but I am not up to that.

I earnestly seek your prayers.  Saturday night my family and I, and our whole community, suffered a terrible loss.  A very bright light in our lives went out.  My sixteen year old granddaughter, who lved with me, died in a car wreck.  She was a very remarkable young woman who touched many lives.  She is being mourned by her family and literally the entire high school, including students, faculty and administrators.  At every school activity this week, including, home coming activities she is being honored.

She was, until her birtday in july, president of her Bee Hive class and was a third year seminary student.

I tell you this to let you know how truly remarkable she really was.  For those who knew her our world has suddenly become a darker place.

With the loss of my wife not yet three months ago and now this I am a total mess.  I am not alone. My entire family has been very deeply affected.  So please pray for them.

If you would like you can click on "My Poetry Blog" and scroll down to the poem "Thy Wondrous Plan". It is a poem dedicated to a young man about her age...whom I was called to the hospital to administer to him. He was the son of a dear friend of ours who thy lost suddenly. Maybe it will help...others there might, not all are mine. Again ErayR, I hope it helps, you are still in my prayers.

Thank you.  Her is a poem we used in her funeral program.  I don't know the author.

A Letter from Heaven

When tomorrow starts without me,!

and I’m not here to see,!

If the sun should rise and find your !

eyes, filled with tears for me.!.

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry,!

the way you did today,!

While thinking of the many things, !

we didn’t get to say.!

I know how much you love me,!

as much as I love you,!

And Each time you think of me,!

I know you’ll miss me too.!

When tomorrow starts without me,!

don’t think we’re far apart,!

for every time you think of me,!

I’m right there in your heart.

I only suggested the temple prayer roll because I have found such love and support from being on the prayer roll during my own struggles in life. I truly love the temple and what goes on in it.

No offense taken.  I understand completely.

ERay, I am so sorry to hear about this.  Having lost a 12 year old niece in 84, I remember how this hurt not just immediate family but grandparents are so.o.o. special!

My thoughts and prayers will be with you and yours.  Although my faith is perhaps at a different level than yours, I have always believed in life after death.  I believe this sweetheart is with people who have loved her for many moons.

My heart breaks..it does get better but never the same.

God Be With You.

I apologize for not seeing your request earlier.

But the righteous one, though he die early, shall be at rest.

For the age that is honorable comes not with the passing of time,

nor can it be measured in terms of years.

Rather, understanding passes for gray hair,

and an unsullied life is the attainment of old age.

The one who pleased God was loved,

living among sinners, was transported—

Snatched away, lest wickedness pervert his mind

or deceit beguile his soul;

For the witchery of paltry things obscures what is right

and the whirl of desire transforms the innocent mind.

Having become perfect in a short while,

he reached the fullness of a long career;

for his soul was pleasing to the LORD,

therefore he sped him out of the midst of wickedness.

But the people saw and did not understand,

nor did they take that consideration into account.

Wisdom 4:7-14

Merciful Lord Jesus, grant them rest. Amen.

Thank you all your prayers have been felt.   The wounds are still fresh and our world is still dark but we are healing.

I have but a single grandchild, and will likely have no more. I cannot imagine your felt loss, ERayR. That, on top of losing your wife must be a serious burden indeed. I'm sending tearful (yet strong) vibes your way. Be well.
