Popular Post Snodgrassian Posted September 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 8, 2022 Most threads on this board that mention LGBTQ+ topics tend to dip into hurtful rhetoric when it comes to stereotypes of these groups of people. The misuse of grooming is particularly egregious. In the words of Taylor Swift, "You need to calm down." The only times in my life I have reported child abuse was at church, working in the primary. Stop worrying about the activities of others that take advantage of the unique world around them, especially in a public park, where decency law are in place. I would never take my children to a drag show at a night club, but I also wouldn't take my children to any club, hard stop. Spend time to get to know your fellow man. Life is full of interesting people who view the world differently. The more open you are to actually listening and respecting them, the more you will learn. I recently attended a Lady Gaga concert. If you want to experience love and unity, regardless of race/gender/sexual preference, please attend her concert. She puts on a show and the entire crowd is part of it. The crowd was the most diverse group i have ever witnessed. My row had young children, old couple (oxygen tank included) all singing and enjoying the moment. 7

So what? Lots of things weren't issues...until someone devises a clever way to subvert the system and makes that something into an issue. I remember back when taking pocketknives on airplanes had "never been an issue;" well, that is until a few guys decided to bring box cutters that one time. For additional examples of things that have "never been an issue," please see just about every employee handbook in corporate America (or even the missionary handbook for that matter). It matters to me because I believe BYU has a property-based right to put their own message on the Y or to have none at all if that is what they desire. And the protesters are interfering with that right. Let's say, for example, that instead of the Y we were talking about a private, San Fransisco based company which manufactures rainbow flags for use at gay pride events. A small group of miscreants from the Westboro Baptist church then shows up and gathers along the public sidewalk in front of the building for a peaceful protest. However, rather than holding up placards or signs they instead use a laser projector to beam a message onto the side of the building which faces the street; the message covering the entire facade reads "God hates flags!" If that were to happen, would you be here defending their use of "colored lights" and praising it as being one of the most peaceful ways of protesting you can imagine? Personally, I would be standing up for the property owners and their right to control the messages being displayed on their own property, just like I am doing for BYU. Meh. I don't think BYU has an obligation to allow people to use it's property to convey any message it doesn't want to send. If students from the University of Utah decided to light the Y red, I would be fine with BYU putting a stop to that as well. And such behavior would have nothing to do with hating the Utes - justifiable as that may be. Doubtful. The god of collegiate sports is the all-mighty dollar, and so long as BYU has an active, loyal fan base (read: market) that won't be left untapped. Sure, you may get individual schools here and there who try to protest or boycott, but I don't think it will ever be a widespread thing. If it's really nothing of importance then why does it bother you that BYU is doing anything to stop it? I think we all know the answer to that though. It really saddens me to hear how judgmental members of the Church have become. Instead of joining with these LGBT students in helping them feel like they are a part of the University and the Church, they are doing all they can to isolate them and make them fearful for being there. i wish I could send them all to a Lady Gaga concert to let them know that it is ok to be different and that there are a whole slew of people out there that love ❤️ them as they are. 2

Because the only way LGBT students can feel like they are part of BYU (and the Church) is by rainbow lighting the Y? Really? Who knew that simply failing to rainbow light the Y made gay students feel isolated and fearful for attending BYU? I can only imagine how hard it must be for them to live under the oppressive, non-rainbow stare of the Y during the daytime. I assume it must be like having the Eye of Sauron constantly upon them. Frightening indeed. 3

Heber Young. Quote 1. In our lovely Deseret, Where the Saints of God have met, There’s a multitude of children all around. They are generous and brave; They have precious souls to save; They must listen and obey the gospel’s sound. 2. That the children may live long And be beautiful and strong, Tea and coffee and tobacco they despise, Drink no liquor, and they eat But a very little meat; They are seeking to be great and good and wise. 3. They should be instructed young How to watch and guard the tongue, And their tempers train and evil passions bind; They should always be polite, And treat ev’rybody right, And in ev’ry place be affable and kind. 4. They must not forget to pray, Night and morning ev’ry day, For the Lord to keep them safe from ev’ry ill, And assist them to do right, That with all their mind and might They may love him and may learn to do his will. 5. They will dance and sing and shout And with drag queens prance and pout, For the zeitgeist of the times they must embrace. With their parents in a thrall As the kids make quite a haul, Then we say it’s great while keeping a straight face. [Chorus] Hark! Hark! Hark! ’tis children’s music— Children’s voices, oh, how sweet, When in innocence and love, Like the angels up above, They with happy hearts and cheerful faces meet. FWIW, it’s not the kids who are the problem Edited September 9, 2022 by Bernard Gui 2

It looks like angry people on both sides have misappropriated the term "grooming/groomer". No reason to be nasty about your beliefs. Things escalate for the worse: now we have a tearoom adopt an ideological raison de vivre beyond being "just a place to gather and have a conversation" and earn a profit, and partisans devolve into undermining the goodwill they need to survive. 2

This is the second time watching, and I so easily see that the up rise is so similar IMO. When I think of a christian nationalist, I think some don't realize that some or many bad people have infiltrated it and are using it as a cover for their homophobia and racism.

I meant horrifying. From Amazon’s book blurb: ”During the presidency of President Donald Trump, it became evident to me that the prophecies about the Son of Man, as predicted by Jesus in the Bible were, to a significant extent, fulfilled at the hands of Mr Trump. The Bible speaks about two different Christs-or Messiahs. Jesus, the Son of God is the one Christ, whereas the Son of Man is the other. Jesus always referred to the Son of Man in the third person. The greatest distinction or significance between the Son of Man and the Son of God (the Lamb) is their respective positions at the throne of God. There are numerous differences between the Son of God and the Son of Man, but overall, people read these scriptures and they do not realize that the Son of God (the Lamb) stands in front of the throne of God, whereas the Son of Man, is positioned on the right hand of God. Jesus spoke about two different killings in the four gospels of the New Testament. People read these scriptures and are unaware that Jesus (the Son of God) predicted his own killing in the first person, as opposed to the several prophecies that He made in respects to the Son of Man who will be crucified. The New Testament speaks about "two Kings;" Jesus, the Son of God, is the "King of the Jews," whereas the Son of Man is the "King of Kings" who will be a world-ruler, and He will rule all the nations (the tribes) of the earth with a rod of iron. This book will explain in depth how "Donald John Trump's" full name literally means: "The Ruler of the World, graced by Yahweh (the LORD) and a descendant of a Drummer." Upon reading this book, the reader will be captivated when they realize how President Donald John Trump fulfilled most of the prophecies as the Son of Man. It speaks about End Time Prophecies and Biblical revelations regarding ‘President Donald J. Trump, the Son of Man. The Christ.’” My bold… The idea that Trump, given just the evidence of his lack of personal morality with his affairs, bragging about being able to have and assault really any woman, etc, is considered next to God by anyone is beyond baffling to me. So is this guy predicting Trump will be literally crucified? If so, can’t imagine Trump is thrilled about that.

How sad that you can’t see the nation is now in the process of being destroyed, soul and body, by amoral modern-day Gadianton robbers, but you think the threat to the nation is coming from god-fearing people who share the worldview of David O. McKay and Ezra Taft Benson, good people whom the woke mob have been unjustly lumped in with a few ignorant, mentally challenged nuts. A question: do you believe David O.
