Probably but some want to take their modern idols into the afterlife and continue to worship them there.

The irony is if the cultists whose principles these people are supporting take power it is probably a coin flip whether they kill off members of the Church or Catholics first.

This is not fair. They will kill the LGBTQ crowd first.

I think there is enough oddness out there I shouldn’t make assumptions.  :)

I should add that I also find the idea that the universe is structured in such a way (such as actually requiring baptism by immersion) also nightmare inducing.

The symbology of the rituals may very much be open to an infinite variety of forms, and I came to understand that many years ago while reading de Santillan & von Dechend's Hamlet's Mill.  We need to recall that, even when we systematically remove key elements from an infinite set, the remaining set is still infinite.

They are ethnonationalists dedicated to killing or expelling the “lesser races” and installing an authoritarian government to maintain their pure society?

Ummmm…….nope.

The idea that Antifa is a cult is also ridiculous. There is no leader. No organization. It is a title taken up by individuals and small groups who don’t interact with each other. It is mostly a bogeyman to scare the poor oppressed white people into voting in autocrats to stop these terrorists who have killed, to my knowledge, one person. He was killed shortly afterwards and we got to watch the debasing spectacle of a sitting US President gloating over the death.

You can find numbers higher than one easily if you just start indiscriminately labeling people as Antifa but that would be dishonest.

You may redefine the anarchic Black Block however you wish, but I put far more stock in the close reportage of those who have seen them up close (embedded with them), and have been repeatedly assaulted by them.  Like the Nazi Brownshirts, they thrive on chaos and destruction.  It is a deeply racist mob, yelling epithets at minorities with reckless abandon.  They vent their visceral anger the same way many gamers do, but exulting in the actual destruction of opponents.  They primarily operate with impunity within cities run by woke Leftists who have no concern for public safety -- with police departments and prosecutors who are ordered to stand down.  Their actions actually guarantee success at the polls by their extremist opponents.

But in the infinitely loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong timeline, even that is demanding that someone be permanently and infinitely held back for what they did during an infinitely short period of their life.

Seems the better and more gracious solution is to go side with the various Mormon leaders and thinkers who have advocated for progression through kingdoms.

The Lord's wisdom and grace are far more efficient than that.

Can you explain this? We know time is relative. Past that we don’t know too much about time. Did time even exist before the Big Bang? I think our (human) understanding of time is … lacking.

Per some physicists, time may not exist at all. Anywhere. Anywhen.

The absolute nonsensicality of that statement leads me to believe that my concept of "time" and the variable they call "time" in their formulae are not the same thing.

When it comes to the question of existence, physics is very simple and straightforward about what it considers to be a satisfactory answer.

  • Can you measure it?
  • Can you quantify it?
  • Can you define it in a mathematically self-consistent way?
  • Is it, itself, an observable quantity, and do other observables depend on it in an inextricable way?

If your answers to these questions are all in the affirmative, there’s no way out of it: you’ve got yourself a quantity that exists.
https://bigthink.com/starts-with-a-bang/does-time-exist-182965/

Physicists think of all kinds of crazy things. It's partly our job. It's also because nature is pretty dang crazy and incomprehensible -- far worse than anything most people have the learning on to even conceptualize. Even though we can answer yes to all the above questions on time, the truth is that we humans really don't have an fundamental understanding of time. There are several theories... but that would be a different topic for a different time.

23 And he who cannot abide the law of a aterrestrial kingdom cannot abide a terrestrial glory.

24 And he who cannot abide the law of a atelestial bkingdom cannot abide a telestial cglory; therefore he is not meet for a kingdom of glory. Therefore he must abide a kingdom which is not a kingdom of glory.

If you knew anything at all about ANTIFA, you would know what the Black Block is.

There is no “the Black Bloc”. Black bloc is a term used to describe a tactic used by a lot of groups to avoid identification. It has been used by some people who identified themselves as Antifa as well as others including Proud Boys and some of the Capitol Rioters. It is common worldwide.

Guess I do know at least something about Antifa.

With all the controversy of late about how a truly just world would be one in which there would be an equality of outcomes, rather than merely an equality opportunities , I’m wondering if there are any participants on this board who believe the Latter-Day Saint doctrine of the three degrees of post-resurrection is unjust because it’s affirmed on the belief that there will be unequal degrees of salvation and glory rewarded at the time of the final judgement?

Gotta stand up sometimes! No, I think anything like that
