First he would have to know the name of the individual whose name was removed. Second he woyld have to access to that Ward or Stake directory. A blanket request for logins is not likely to get the correct stake...the probabilities dont seem to be there. 2

All he needs is one name per stake and then he has access to all the directory.

But he also needs to have the names of those who resigned if that is what he is checking. It would be much easier to just ask those who have resigned to ask a friend or relative to see if their name is still on the ward list or for them to just try to log in on their old account which likely would not be removed if still on the list. Makes more sense to me if he is not trying something illegal with bank info (and since he is well known, that would be very, very stupid), that he plans to use stake directories to collect either emails or addresses to send out anti-info of some sort. But I would not be surprised if he wants to pull a prank like resigning others. If it were this, he is going to make it harder for those who want to resign because they will have to,add in steps to confirm resignation by the actual person involved. If he does this, he will have exmormons angry at him as well (which is why I think spamming is more likely...not that hard to think of this consequence). Edited June 3, 2018 by Calm 4

I think that the LDS church in Europe would have to take action. Not sure if the EU would react to one complaint by a religious member but of course they could. But as a church, it would be more effective. I don't think that people can breach passwords, assume identities...even mass idenitites and not break the law. It doesn't matter if it is a church's membership records or something more serious. A person's church affiliation and their identities are still regarded as personal data. 1

I wouldn't underestimate Norton's determination and patience. Remember, we're talking about a guy who moved to another state, took on another person's identity, and lived a fake life for MONTHS so that he could film temple ordinances. I'm not a fan or a supporter of him and I am certainly not going to give him my login credentials, but I figure if he is ready to execute on a plan (and asking for the login info), he has probably figured out how to make it happen and will most likely follow through to completion.

I saw a few of his videos about him living someone else. So yeah he has somelevel of determination. Calm, in the videos it was easy to figure out that he was in arizona, and that the ward building he attended was an old building.

Taken literally he is plotting to poison everyone in the church with laxatives. And no, no one remembers how impressive a missionary he supposedly was. The poor guy needs attention. I listened to his interview on Mormon Stories but it was a long time ago so I am foggy on the details of why he had to go to such extremes. I agree that he could have lied about it but he went into an awful lot of detail in that interview and I'm not sure why it would benefit him to make up such a story. Either way, I think the combination of his determination, patience, and willingness to deceive make his threats realistic.
