mfbukowski Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 (edited) Then I guess you will know by then! What applies to one often does not apply to others Edited October 1, 2016 by mfbukowski
SteveO Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Elder Uceda gave one of the best I've heard for a bit...definitely check his out 1
boblloyd91 Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Sister McConkie gave an amazing talk this morning
Popular Post Tacenda Posted October 1, 2016 Popular Post Posted October 1, 2016 I really liked President Uchtdorf's talk, where he says he can't mention what kind of diet soda he drank while learning how to use a computer. It cracked me up! He's so real, love that man. Not that you're not real for not drinking it, just that he admits this vice, mine too. Of course maybe it wasn't diet coke or diet dr. pepper, and I'm assuming. I listened to the first session with my wonderful mother in law. As I sat there I observed her home and how she was surrounded with artwork of the Saviour. And I looked at her bookcase, full of LDS books, and her table near her chair stacked with her Ensigns and a book she was reading. She is the salt of the earth as they say. I hope I'd never break her heart. It's mighty difficult to have testimony issues around her and sometimes I feel ashamed of myself. But I know she'd love me regardless. Anyway, I've enjoyed the talks so far. 10

I think they usually get one from each auxillary and then with the YM and Sunday School they alternate between conferences, although conferences seem to end shorter nowadays

Daniel2 Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 (edited) More important question: did the G.A.'s present any new (previously un-presented) REVELATIONS before the body of the church for sustaining, so as to have any such REVELATIONS become binding on church membership? I'll tell you what was revealed to me. I want to publicly and conspicuously and genuinely apologize for any comments which I have made which have offended you in any way- and I know I have made a considerable number of them. I am truly sorry. I know you find these to be "homophobic" and therefore highly offensive. On the other hand I must say I admire your tolerance with me, in not responding in kind. Yes you are a critic of the church, but I have made this personal, which is totally inappropriate, and does not represent the behavior of a disciple of Jesus Christ. I promise I will not do this again. 11

juliann Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 I'm still trying to convince myself that Elder Oaks told us to have special sacrament meetings to bring investigators to so what they hear would be appropriate. OK, I'll admit I'm still laughing. But I heard some really great stuff today. 2
Okrahomer Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 President Uchtdorf's Priesthood address made me think of some of our own folks here on this board who have returned. Very inspiring. 3
The Nehor Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 I think all of them have been at least decent.

They prohibited vampires from membership until their vampirism is cured. It is possible I drifted off during the Morning Session (late Friday night) but.... 1
