So as I ponder my time as a goddess if I should so happen to make it to such a station in the next life, what do they do all day?  What does Heavenly Mother actually do?  I know this is a rhetorical question because we don't know and I beg to say almost discouraged from pondering her...  buy why should I desire something that I don't even know what it entails?

I don't know if you are endowed or not, but I take my clues about what a Heavenly Mother does from the temple ordinances, partiularly the initiatories...

I am endowed and calling me a priestess and a goddess  and explaining that I will reign one day with my husband isn't much of a job description.  We do get to see a snippet of what HF does.  There are lots of blessings pronounced upon a person in the temple just not a lot of explaining of what we will do with those blessings if we live worthy of them.

I rather like the idea that it's like earthlife just a little, because I once read that it wouldn't be like our lives here exactly, we wont need food or need to speak, we'd use telepathy. I just can't live with that, unless when we get to the other side it is like going home and we remember it.

I just want to see my earthly mother let alone my Heavenly Mother. Hoping I had some kind of relationship with her and dad before I came down.

What clothes...

I had forgotten that they didn't wear clothes back then, because they didn't have their knowledge of good and evil back fhen, but like I said, I won't be running around naked. At least not all of the time. So I'll be wearing some clothes, at least sometimes, so I will need some way to keep them clean, even when I have celestial glory/intelligence.

I think some people just don't realize we're still going to need or at least want a lot of the same kinds of things when we receive celestial glory/intelligence.

I told my husband before we got married that I had ironed enough men's shirts for a lifetime (my Dad's) and while I would help in an emergency, ironing wasn't going to happen on a regular basis. Since our latest move has allowed him to sort his laundry separately, he has picked up the habit of washing his own as well, though I was perfectly willing to do his as well.

That IS pretty funny. Though I make most of the sammiches around our house. Comes from being the first of eight kids, while my lovely spouse was the youngest of four, so she never got in the practice of cooking.  And as to the OP, interesting that an agnostic guy can see that it only makes sense for there to be a Mother in Heaven. I do wonder why other religions have not picked up on the doctrine. And for all you good Catholics, Mary does not count. She is a wonderful mother figure, but not our Mother in Heaven.

The point is that celestial people will still need some clean clothes. And I'm sure my wife would still wash mine for me.

We don't iron, either. My wife just hangs my dress shirts after the wash and they don't get wrinkles, maybe partly due to the fabric. And the celestial fabrics are probably even better. I'm still going to get dirty though. Dirt is dirty, and I'm going to keep using dirt for our gardens. Celestial dirt.

I think of the Earth looking a lot like it does now from space, like a shiny blue and earth colored marble. Mainly just cleaned up, I think.

Why can't you picture her doing those things. I don't imagine money being necessary in heaven, so I don't imagine there would be any bills to pay (plus she would also own everything just as our Father does), but there will still be food to prepare, and a lawn to mow, and clothes to clean (I'm not going to be running around naked), plus a home to take care of for those of us who will have a place where our family can get together). And we'll still be having children with no more old age or disabilities or health problems to slow us down.

 

 

So you think we're going to be sending our clothes out to be cleaned rather than cleaning them ourselves in our homes? With faith they'll be cleaned properly, to actually get them cleaned to where the whites are as bright as they should be? And you won't mind at all the cleaners with telestial glory/intelligence will be seeing your undies?

I'm a guy so I wouldn't mind too much but my wife is kinda particular about who she will let see her clothes, so we'll still probably want to clean our clothes, and do our other household duties ourselves. It would be nice to have others to help with our garden chores, though. Unless maybe celestial plants just kinda take care of themselves.

I am with you. I am constantly amazd at how banal and dull people can make heaven seem and then live faithfully trying to get there. Why would you want to?

Why would there be chores and laundry at all? You're living in everlasting burnings with command over the elements. You just pull a Lady Macbeth and say, "Out, damned spot!" and problem solved with the added benefit of actually being able to damn the spot to hell.
