Popular Post The Nehor Posted November 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2020 I hope everyone else had a good day yesterday. Spent some time at church in a meeting and then went out when I heard there was a semi-spontaneous street party. Lots of happy people, good music, and smiles everywhere. Been a long time since I have seen such widespread joy. Strange it randomly happened all over across the nation for seemingly no reason. Just woke up and listening to music and just feeling great. Mind if I share a song that seems to speak to me on a level beyond words for a moment? Hope everyone else is happy. 5
Meadowchik Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 (edited) Some moments are good like that, I'm glad your neighborhood so nicely matched the cheer of your mood yesterday. This week, I had to take an assessment, finish a project, and figure out why an important document that I had mailed clear back in September hadn't reached its destination. But Friday I finished the schoolwork despite my brain being torturously distracted and anxious, and the document appears to be irrelevant now anyway. So yesterday and today I have given myself a mini vacation from school stuff, and chocolate-walnut cookies are in the oven. I am happy. Edited November 8, 2020 by Meadowchik 1

Rain Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 I'm happy today because of a talk in church today about righteousness and unity. He compared it to love God and love your fellow men. I'm happy because I finished an advent calendar for my son and his companion. In the last day I was able to find a tiny Nativity ornament to put in it. 1

Is this part of your calling or just something you wanted to do? um, it's not my calling but an assignment to help write the history of the temple here. I love it! One story that blows my mind a week later. The temple was announced 9 years ago and long story short it's almost done. We were asked by the temple dept. to write the history of the temple, area etc. There is this couple that moved into our ward a year or so ago. he's from Texas and she is from Illinois. BYU Grads. We hardly ever get BYU Grads here. he came for Grad school. She graduated from the BYU Art dept. which I have heard is a tough program. So asked her to be the graphic designer for the book, which she agreed to do. A few months ago I came across a photo of Elder George Albert Smith visiting here in 1915, it's a group missionary photo. It has the MP and the first two sister missionaries to serve here and 4 elders. I thought well, this has to go into the book. I had this couple over for halloween and I told them about this photo. It turns out the guy is direct descendant of one of the Elders in the photo. I thought what are the chances of that particular couple with her skill set and him being a descendant moving here now and me finding that photo and telling them about it. Now, I doubt that God postponed the temple just so we could a book. It just blows my mind, them, here and now. 3
Tacenda Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 I'm always happy when we get the first snow of the year, not that I'm a big skier or love the shoveling, but because it is a wonderful sight. This morning they are the biggest snowflakes I've ever seen in my life, but it is 2020! And in a minute, going to put some banana bread in the oven, half chocolate chips and half not, husband doesn't like them in his. Currently listening to my ward conference on Zoom. Inactivity was never so easy.
rodheadlee Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Yeah I'm happy I'll be giving part of my paycheck to pay the rest of the world not to pollute. 1
Kenngo1969 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 As long as we're sure this isn't a political thread. And weren't you, the purveyor of the "Stay Safe Out There" thread, the one who said there would be rioting in the streets if the incumbent weren't reelected? 2

No, I believe I said it was likely to happen in the next few weeks but also specified that it might be nothing and I would be glad if that were the case. Time will tell. There have been incidents but most have thankfully been minor. 7 minutes ago, rodheadlee said: Yeah I'm happy I'll be giving part of my paycheck to pay the rest of the world not to pollute. That is very generous of you. Hopefully we can transition away from polluting power generation to mitigate the problem in the next few decades. Then you could give the money to another worthy cause. 1

I already have wind and solar for my power needs but I could use 3 more 140 watt panels. Perhaps Santa Claus will bring me some presents. Now if we could get people to stop polluting my oceans we be having things. 1

cherryTreez Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 I managed to get down to my chicken coop for the first time since my surgery. I get my happy times watching my hens. It sounds silly but I find great peace and joy with them. 4

Quote The Nehor Suspected Head of Antifa Popular Post Posted Monday at 05:13 PM (edited) There are worrying signs of turmoil in the next few days in the US. ATMs in some areas are having their "carry" reduced, national guard is on a higher state of readiness in a few states, and in some areas buildings are being secured. There have also been several incidents already. Please keep yourselves safe and be careful over the next few days. Edited November 8, 2020 by Kenngo1969
Stargazer Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 As a late birthday / early Christmas gift, my wife got me a new camera recently, a Canon EOS 4000D. I'm happy about that. It will help distract me for a time, learning exposure, f-stops, ISO and so forth. Otherwise, I'm pretty grumpy at the moment. 1
