Temples are protected by priesthood authority.  But a temple can also become defiled.  So I think Satan can enter if he's permitted to by the actions or choices of the patrons and leaders.

Does it really matter?  Men and women are present and plenty of us don't need to depend on Satan or anyone else to indulge in evil thinking unfortunately.

I would certainly hope he's kept out by the Holy Spirit of God and the Priesthood Authority. I believe our homes can become the same as the temple if we treat them as such. I don't have any Scripture to back all this up.

Yes, Satan plays a big part in the ceremony.  I especially prefer the singing Satan.

It signifies that it has been given to God, dedicated to his works, and used for his purposes.

He requires we do our best to keep it holy, sacred, and separate from the world.

Those who enter can only do their best to be the same way.

Whether or not he could be there personally, I don’t know, but his influence sure can be...hence the locks on the lockers.

Yes, part of it is declaring before man, God, and the angels that this place is God's.

Another part is petitioning God to accept and protect it.

Yet another part is declaring gratitude to God for the blessings obtained within.

And the dedication is sealed by priesthood authority.  (Home dedications etc used to be done the same way but I think that's no longer required).

The dedication prayers are often published, I don't know, perhaps all are
