He was a good man. 

While, certainly, this does little [if anything] to salve current pain, is.  He is a good man.  His mission continues elsewhere.  And for every sorrowful parting that occurs on this side of the veil (condolences to Wendy and his children and grandchildren ), there is at least one joyful reunion that occurs on the other side of the veil.  ("Hello, Dantzel, Dear!" )  RIP, President Russell M. Loved President Nelson. At 101, what a legacy he has left.

I only found out somewhat recently that lots of exmos actually despise President Nelson. They called him power hungry and how he only cared about getting more and more temples so he could pass Hinkley for number of temples announced. It was very odd. 
 

With Oaks up next, I can only imagine the rage.

Looks like the comment I saw earlier may have been deleted on the Church announcement (either by the church YouTube channel or by Youtube itself. It's hard to be sure.) but this guy was going through basically saying that Nelson will be judged for his sins and how he will probably burn in hell because of a lot of stuff. He mentioned the shell companies donating money to Hamas (which is new to me), how he basically instrumented every excommunication over the course of his presidency, and a lot of other stuff. All I could think of was, "Wow, some people will really just say anything as long as it's negative towards a person or organization they don't like."

I wish I could find the original comment again. I was going to screenshot it to post the content (not the picture) here because it really was bizarre.

So sorry to hear about President Nelsons passing.  I know he was a leader that so many adored and loved.  Maybe that is what this thread should stay focused on rather than those who are angry for what he stood for.  He was a great man that worked tirelessly to lead the Church the very best he could.

I can’t help but think about the fact that before he was called as an apostle, he had already made a great impact on the world as a world-renowned heart surgeon.   He spent a lifetime in service to others.

I’m sorry. I take responsibility for that. I think I’ve spent too much time on the internet lately.

President Nelson was a prophet of God and I loved him. I remember one of the very few honest to goodness spiritual confirmations that I had that he was a prophet. That first talk got me to realize that I needed to get myself right spiritually.

I’m watching stake conference from home.  They started off recognizing President Nelson’s passing.  Everyone on the stand was openly weeping.  It kind of broke me.  I think everyone needs extra hugs today.

That’s a wonderful remembrance:) I always had the feeling that he loved everyone, like a father figure to everyone, steady and unwavering always. Always wanting the best for everyone. A great man and prophet.

He married a woman who never expected to marry- and because she was a friend to me, I paid extra attention to him.  He reminds me often in a gentle way to be better.

It was early this morning during my study on my gospel library app when I found the news on the HOME page. Interestingly the obit stated that the succession will NOT be formalized this week?

I’ve heard that they don’t usually call a new prophet until the funeral is over for the last one. Perhaps that would cause a delay?

With all that is going on in the world, I'm sure it will be done by next weekend- to provide sanity in an insane world.
