Storm Rider Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Lutefisk. 'nuff said. Why would anyone put that in their mouths in the first place is beyond me. My grandfather was Swedish, direct from the boat, and that was not in our home! Praise God we did not have that; St. Lucia protected us royally and I will be forever grateful.
BlueDreams Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Papaya. It tastes like sweet vomit to me (and yes, I've had "good" fresh papaya). So every time I've had it, it's worked my gag reflex. Also not a big fan with red bean "ice cream" ....you have solid beans in ice, tofu, etc and a little weird textured ice cream....it's just weird. Edible, but weird. Duncan, I also don't like Flan....but a dish called flan imposible (or impossible flan dessert) it's chocolate cake with flan and it is suprisingly delicious! 1
Okrahomer Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 This won't fly with most people, but I do not like goat or sheep (mutton) or any goat or sheep by-product--like milk or cheese. There is a quality in the flavor that is immediately noticeable and cloying to me.
MorningStar Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Pizza with anchovies Creamed cornI'm trying to remember the worst, but pizza with tuna fish and anchovies in Austria was truly awful. Saltiest thing I've ever eaten.
MorningStar Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 In Italy, I think they gave me a plate of raw pancetta. I love prosciutto, so pretty sure it wasn't that. That was pretty gross too.
Meadowchik Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I love many foods, but adouille sausage. Smells horrible. My husband loves it and it is not easy to sit at the same table of its consumption. :/
ERayR Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I don't care for brussel sprouts too much. Love them with a good cheese sauce
Tacenda Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Love them with a good cheese sauceAh, it's all in the preparation then. 1
Mola Ram Suda Ram Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Why? Why would anyone do something like this?Um... well. I loved peanut butter I used to just eat it with a spoon. My older brother and sister played a trick on me and put muster underneath the peanut butter. And I ate it. It was really nasty. Of coarse, me being the gullible younger brother, fell for the ploy 2 times. So yeah, it is really nasty.

Tacenda Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Caviar is terrible, I use to refuse to eat it at dinnertime.
Okrahomer Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Caviar is terrible, I use to refuse to eat it at dinnertime. ONLY at dinner time???!
sunstoned Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Caviar is terrible, I use to refuse to eat it at dinnertime. quality caviar is not bad.
JLHPROF Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I don't care for brussel sprouts too much. Nor did I as a kid. My mother is Irish and boils her vegetables. She used to served boiled brussel sprouts with vinegar and butter. When I finally had them roasted with some nice color on them and especially tossed with bacon it was a whole new experience.I generally believe the flaw is usually in the preparation choice, not the ingredient.
Traela Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Broccoli casserole. My mother was a wonderful cook, and generally I like broccoli, but this stuff was vile. I think it's the only "food" that has made me gag. 1
Saint Sinner Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Casu Marzu cheese. I wanted to cry. 3
sunstoned Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 There are many things I like about England, but blood sausage is not one of them. 2
Grundelwalken Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Eggplant -- in any iteration (also include artichoke in the same category). Once sat at the table (13 yrs old) all night because I refused to eat it. My dad lost that battle. MW 2

That's because everything tastes better with bacon. 3
