Storm Rider Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Ron... what is it? (Type of food?) GG Natto is a fermented soy bean....paste. A very stringy, sticky slime surrounds the beans and it is eaten with rice. It is very salty and is definitely an acquired taste. It is not the kind of thing one would wake up and say I want to try Natto today. The texture throws most people off. 1
Kenngo1969 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) I studied abroad in Mexico for a quarter in college. (Yes, I'm dating myself: how long has it been since any institution was on the quarter system?) Anyway, my roommate was also an RM, and he served his mission in South America (Peru, I think). For one dinner appointment, He and his companion were served ubre de vaca. I'm sure it was delicious! P.S.: Something tells me John Williams would have a story or two to tell on this topic. Maybe I'll tell him to get his butt over here! Edited August 10, 2015 by Kenngo1969
Rivers Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 The worst food I ever tasted was a taco at Jack in the Box last month. I couldn't believe how nasty it tasted. (I normally like their food.) As an aside, someone in a former ward once ate a live slug for ten dollars. Not sure if that can be called food.I ate there a lot on my mission. And I remember actually liking it. Even the tacos.
