Last Movie You Watched

Hated the Look Up Jennifer Lawrence flick. What an awful movie on Netflix. 
 

Finished Wheel of Time. Overall disappointed. Got done watching and had a lot of, ‘I wish they…’ thoughts. When I’m rewriting it in my head, I know it wasn’t great. 
 

Hawkeye finished stronger than it started but it was still just okay.

I'll like it better when they get 5 or 7 metric seasons in the can so I can watch an imperial-season (or whatever 24-26 episodes is called) all at once.

At this rate a season will begin and end between commercial breaks.

I watched this last week. Overall, I enjoyed it - even though there were a few scenes that were poorly delivered.

My only real complaint is that I thought the whole 'Aunt May as moral compass' bit was too out of character based on what we've seen of her up until now, and their twist of having her deliver the great power/responsibility line ended coming off gimmicky to me.

My son enjoyed the movie even though he had never seen any of the previous Spider Man movies. He didn't recognize any of the cameos or callbacks, but that didn't stop him from having a good time.

News of the World

In 1870 Capt. Jefferson Kidd travels from town to town reading the news from multiple news papers for 10 cents a person. On his travels he happens upon a turned over wagon, a dead man and a 10 year old girl dressed in Native American clothing. She only speaks Kiowa. It appears that the dead man had been assigned to escort the girl back to her relatives that live in Castroville. Capt Kidd eventually takes on the task.

I liked the movie, it had a good ending.

I really enjoyed this movie.  I like most things that Tom Hanks is in.  I think this was the first Western that he was involved with.

With all the chaos in the world, I find myself turning to wholesome and familiar things. I've been watching a lot of old favorites. Currently Sister Act. We did watch Encanto this weekend, which was really wonderful.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL 1984 made for TV film starring George C. Scott.  For my wife and I, this is our favorite film version of this classic story by Charles ****ens. The original story is one of my favorite fictional stories.

It's just the board's automatic software to keep vulgar words from showing up in the case of trolls.  Sometimes it gets overzealous.

There is a new British murder mystery series out called Madame Blanc. It’s a light-hearted whodunnit, but with some interesting twists. Highly recommend:)

Slightly tangential to the topic , but I have been watching the you-tube videos of the comedians on " Dry Bar Comedy " from Provo.

Good clean stuff.

Watched "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" on Prime and was pleasantly surprised.  Jessica Chastain plays her (so there are prosthetics involved to help her look more like her) does an amazing job.  It's entertaining and very well done.  It's respectful but doesn't shy away from the outcome of her and Jim Bakker's story.

She's a much more sympathetic character than I originally saw her as.

I watched Encanto last night and didn't really understand what all the hoopla is about. It's a very confusing storyline that doesn't make a lot of sense to me.  So many questions that are never answered!  And the music is fine but not amazing.

I’ve read a number of accounts, and seen a number of interviews, that show Tammy Faye to be a much different person than most people perceive her, including a great deal of involvement with the gay community.  I haven’t seen the movie but would watch it given the chance.

Yeah, she was a lot different than I thought she was. She was a sweet woman who had a lot of love to give. But she was naïve.
