I’ll have to review it.

He might have meant in the near future, but that’s not what he said.

Regardless if one thinks the Millennium is "a bunch of bunk" (my phrase, but, certainly, I think it captures the attitude of skeptics), and regardless if anyone is familiar enough with the construction and engineering techniques involved, the Salt Lake Temple renovation and preservation project is an awe-inspiring undertaking. In any event, it's worth noting that members of the Church of Jesus Christ hardly are alone in their millennialist worldview. Though, necessarily, given the belief of the Church of Jesus Christ in modern revelation and its companion belief in an open canon, Latter-day Saint millennialist beliefs differ, in certain details, from those of other Christians, if we're wrong, we're in good company. And it is not nihilistic to think it is a fantasy. And it is not optimistic to think it is not. The latter may be called delusional. Living in reality is not hopeless. 1
