  1. 1. To what extent is your Sunday meeting schedule "back to normal?"

    • All meetings are still virtual only
    • Sacrament meeting is in person, but 2nd hour is virtual only
    • Both hours are offered in-person
    • Hybrid: In-person sacrament meeting alternates between segments of the ward
  2. 2. What is the level of "mitigation protocols" enforcement in your church meetings? (masks,

    • Stringently enforced/insisted upon
    • Whatever people want to do, in practice

I didn't say that getting Covid gives you "lifetime immunity" and that it's a guarantee that you will never get Covid again. I said it gives you the best chance of not getting it in the future.

Touchy touchy.

I didn't even see your post, neither did I quote you, nor probably ever will

No, because they were vaccinated. That is why you see very few vaccinated people in the hospital with corvid.  In light of the overwhelming medical, scientific, and real life in the hospital statistics, it is foolishness to argue against the effectiveness of the vaccine.

Since February 1, 2021, Unvaccinated Utahns had: 2.5 times Greater Risk of Testing Positive for COVID-19, a 5.6x greater risk of hospitalization, and a 6.9 times greater risk of dying COVID-19.

https://coronavirus-dashboard.utah.gov/risk.html

In which demographics?  Can you break that out by age, weight, and comorbidity, please?  My argument has never been that some people aren't better off being vaccinated.  My argument is the risk isn't the same across the board, even though people like to lump the numbers together to make it worse.   Over HALF of the COVID deaths in the United States are over the age of 75.   I wonder what percent of the US population is over the age of 75?

Did you even look at that before responding?  It has by age information.

And better include the height with the weight or it is meaningless, better to use waist circumference and the EOSS as well as body mass indexing though, make sure they include them all just to be sure.

And why aren’t you including race, sex, smoker or not, socioeconomic status, access to health care?  After all if you are well off, white, and have health insurance, why get vaccinated just because minorities and lower income people may come in contact with you when infected and get seriously ill?

How much of this is you repeating others’ talking points vs actually examining the data out there?  Your approach is superficial acting like it is in-depth, while ignoring actual context…like your cherry picking approach to the instructions from the Church.

If you are wondering what percentage of the US is over 75, then Google it instead of acting like it is some unknown factor no one else has considered in regard to Covid.

Demanding others jump through hoop after hoop while refusing to do the same and then ignoring their work is so annoying.

I didn't care enough to check.  I wondered, knowing it further solidifies my point.

Yes, getting vaccinated so your elderly parents and your medically compromised child won’t be as likely to be exposed is an emotional argument, so we can disregard them as well. Logically, long as you are white, relatively healthy and young and not obese, no worries!

Unfortunately, the self centered approach is quiet popular among many when it comes to dealing with Covid. It’s in vogue in many circles.

They also don’t like what the prophet has had to say or the actions of church leadership on Covid as well. Becoming more and more vocal and openly defiant in wards, stakes and online. All under the misguided concept of ‘free agency’ and an apparent memory lose on the two greatest commandments.

You are a great missionary for your church! Keep being you!

It is not logical to care about others’ salvation when one’s own is just fine, so what an emotional argument!

The demographic is Utah.  The risk of taking the vaccine is infinitesimally small.  The benefits are life saving.  Do yourself a big favor, a little less Fox news and a little more science.

BRMC, find for me the number of vaccine adverse events in Utah and only include those that have been confirmed to be directly tied to the vaccine (for example, don’t include motorcycle accidents following vaccination) and that resulted in hospitalization and death and obesity to calculate the risk for such vaccine adverse events by age and comorbidity so we can make a decent comparison of risks with the stats you are demanding for hospitalization and death rates for Covid.

Yep. Though in @BRMC's defence, one actually has to scroll down from the top of the page to find it, and that may be asking too much of him.

Salvation?   Strawman.

I was pretty specific in the demographics I was looking for.  I'm curious why you avoided them?    The benefits of vaccination are not life saving for may demographics, as I established factually above.

Additionally, I looked at the Utah data posted.  Did you realize that in some demographics vaccination offered only a slight increase in the avoidance of death?   Does that change your opinion?   These are hard facts.  Not emotion or opinion.

Why?  Fauci stated the other day that if you break your arm and go to the hospital then test positive for COVID, or if you die of cancer with COVID, it still counts as a COVID death.   Why are you perpetuating a double standard to support your bias?

So there weren’t any demographics you found where risk for death or hospitalization was not reduced through vaccination?  Interesting.

Can you please tell us what “slightly” means in terms of deaths and hospitalizations?  Either way, increase in death or hospitalization from vaccination in any demographic, right?

How did this thread end up as another covid thread?

Back to the OP, the status of our ward is pretty much unchanged.  A handful of members wear masks, there is no social distancing of any kind and passing the sacrament is back to normal.  I live in Davis Co. Utah.

My Utah ward few social distances, even less wear masks. Those that prepare and pass the sacrament wear masks. We are back to 2 hours.

Reduced?  Certainly.

Take "cases" from the provided information in the 70-79 demographic:

70-79 Years 4694 4703

Vaccinated vs unvaccinated cases is statistically equal.

Take hospitalizations for 80+

80+ Years 686

579

Deaths 12-18

12-18 Years <5

0

The vaccinated rate for 12-18 was 0 for the time period, too.

These numbers don't include the increase in Omicron, which is proving to be less severe.

Do you have a source for this?  I don’t know what I am looking at or the context.
