It's sad that he would risk alienating his LDS friends and fans by mocking the temple, scriptures and Joseph Smith.  Hopefully his LDS friends will continue to show love and kindness to him.

He is so angry.  I can understand his anger..and like Tacenda, wish it could be expressed as well in the video as it was in MS.

But he doesn't have to resign..or wait to be exed.  The church left him in the dust last October.  This time, they are accountable for his complete disaffection and the leaving of many others.

Sometimes the chickens come home to roost...and the church is now receiving the dividends from its decision to classify legally married same sex couples as apostates.  It could have turned out so differently, but they chose the path where everybody loses...

Very dark and a lot of anger and pain.  I do wish he'd expressed it in a way that would reach more active LDS, but then I understand his anger too.   I feel bad for him and for his family.

I watched part 3 of his ms podcast and found it incredibly sad.  When he discussed how the policy affected his mother, I understood her pain too.  I look at the video as an artistic expression of the anger and despair the policy put him through.  It is incredibly painful to have to evaluate your core beliefs.  As a mom, watching your children not finding hope or relief in the Gospel but rather pain and despair, is incredibly hard.  The video is used as a very blunt instrument to express his anger and despair.  It is incredibly dark but since I'm trying to overcome anger and bitterness, I get where he's coming from.  I hope he can find peace.  No one wants to stay in that dark place for too long.

It is sad for me to see very talented people leave the church. I wonder how becoming famous (and usually rich) impacts testimony. I have read were Mormon celebrities leave the church and have wondered what has changed other that their success?

Titled "Get Straight or Get Out"... with some nice music in the background and lots of pictures of happy straight people.

Yes, it is hard to see any one sad and hurting that much.  When I saw his story about six months ago, I was trying to figure out how he was going to stay in the faith and also exercise his sexuality.  When I saw the interview, it was implying that he had not yet taken part in same sex acts, but that it was in his future.  So, I really wondered how that was going to work and here is my answer.  

There is no really great answer that makes every one happy, so this will go like hundreds of other threads go on this message board.  The same observations will be made by both sides and by those in between for that matter.  The truth is that the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ as God revealed through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints requires those with SSA to not act on it.  If they do not act on it, they are free to take part in the gospel and Church without restriction.  Whether he hates the Church, stayed celibate or goes off into the gay lifestyle, God loves him and he is still our Heavenly Parents child.

The only evolution, if any, there has been is in Mr. Glenn's wishful thinking. Homosexual behavior has never been acceptable in the Church of Jesus Christ, and there has never been any indication or hint that it ever will be.

I haven't seen the video yet but from what I've read it is a stark change in tone from the MS interview.

I know a lot of people are offended by the video and are calling him an angry, bitter, apostate. That may be true but I ask myself how that happened. I hope that instead of being defensive and angry towards Tyler Glenn, people will take a step back and have empathy for a man who feels lost, betrayed, and alienated from a church he once loved. He may be lashing out in anger. He may be intentionally provocative with his art to help others feel his emotion but it is clear he is hurting.

The "policy" was a key turning point for him and I think it is worthwhile to take a step back and consider whether or not this is merely another negative fruit of that policy. So sad.
