Scripture was being quoted and that offended you.  And me repping someone for quoting Scripture was offensive to you.

So....you can shame on me all you want.  When I am shamed for following Scripture, I will wear that with pride.

:blink:CountryBoy, You have had so much love and support from so many on this board the past few months.  I am so surprised at your sometimes blunt and callous remarks..maybe I am reading you wrong????

Blunt and callous?

Every comment I have made has supported the Prophet, Church teachings, and The Scriptures.  May I continue to be so blunt.....how quoting and supporting is suddenly callous is a bit odd....but oh well.....

A lot want to remain in the church to not let their parents or families down.

true.  I have met members of almost every denomination...mostly, Jew, Catholic, Mormon and Muslim, who would leave their faiths but fear it would upset family and/or friends

In case it hasn't become clear to you yet, to some on this board, supporting the prophet, Church teachings and scripture <is> blunt and callous.

More's the pity.

Shrug.  You mentioned me.  When I ask, you won't answer.  So, ok.

Where did I state that?  LOL

We all hope for different things in our life.  That doesn't make it a "strategy".

I'll respond to that once you respond to my previous post, since typically Christ-centered hope is tied to things that do not change in the plan of salvation, which is a strategy of getting from point A to point B : Posted yesterday at 12:07 PM

Thanks for your response.  But I am no longer participating in this thread.  Perhaps another day we can view things from a different perspective.

No worries.  Catch on another thread.  Cheers,

Can you support the prophet and not agree with everything he states?

And about that, what specifically has President Monson stated on the subject of SSM?  Any direct quotes from him?

As far as I know, he has been silent on the matter. We have hearsay, but any actual quotes from our living Prophet on SSM?

so you now judge my humility?  Do you see the irony in that?

And you tell me how to proceed in Christ?  Did I miss seeing your calling as my leader?

Wasn't offering it.

"More's the pity" is an idiomatic expression that means regrettable (or deplorable) but true.

Publicly opposing the prophet in the mass media (including anonymous Internet postings) strike me as incompatible with supporting the Prophet.

As president of the Church, he gives implicit consent to all content in official Church sources.

Furthermore, the president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is on record as saying the recent handbook update relative to same-sex marriage by Church members amounting to apostasy came by way of revelation to and through the president of the Church. I believe him.

So no statements by the prophet about SSM?

I know I am not your leader..not judging..I am perceiving this as a friend who admired you. And believe it or not..was hoping I was helping you get your points across without so much argument.  All this has nothing to do with the scriptures or the Prophet.

Thanks for clarifying...as deplorable as I am.

Ah....well...perception is everything.  People see things differently.  Something to keep in mind.

And anytime a person tells another they need humility, it is pure irony.

Again, please give any quotes you have on SSM from President Monson.  I really would like to read the quotes.

Latter-day Saints sustain all 15 members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers and revelators.

Well, he had to have said <something> by way of reporting the revelation he had received, right

But If there weren't, it wouldn't matter. Each and every member of the First Presidency and the Twelve is sustained as a prophet, seer and revelator. Collectively, they convey the mind and will of God.
