Popular Post UtahTexan Posted August 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 6, 2025 (edited) I think many of you remember GardenGirl. And you know the story of how I met this girl who turned out to be a long-lost cousin. It is with great sadness that I inform that this sweet woman passed away yesterday. It was a peaceful passing. Few people I have ever known were as sweet and loving as Jeanne. In her recent years, dementia had taken over, so, I am glad that she is once again herself. She loved her friends here so very much. Pyreaux Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 I've never got to chat with her, yet I think I do know GardenGirl is from around here or I strangely recall a video, maybe SaintsUnscripted. I'm sorry to hear she's left us. 1

Thank you for letting us know. She was a special friend to a lot of us here and we’ve missed her contributions so much. I’m glad she can be with her Ray again. 2
Calm Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 I am grateful she is with her beloved husband again and free of pain and confusion. She added much to my life and the lives of others on the board. Thank you for letting us know. 4

Okrahomer Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 GardenGirl was my kindred spirit when it came to our shared and unashamed passion for BYU sports — I loved her for it. I have missed her, but I’m happy she is free now from the sufferings of mortality. I’ll think of her as my “angelic” fellow fan whenever I’m sitting in the LES or Marriott Center. Go Cougs! And Go GardenGirl…go joyfully to your happy and well-deserved rest. 3
rpn Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 Thanks so much for letting us know. I too am happy she is whole again forever. I hope the OP will post her obituary when it becomes available. 1
Popular Post Tacenda Posted August 8, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 8, 2025 I would love to see her obituary too, @rpn. My husband and I were lucky to be able to meet her in Newport, Oregon while vacationing on the coast. She was so much fun and during breakfast she showed photos of her husband and cat (?) and a younger photo of herself, she was a knockout! We had a wonderful conversation and we were lucky to be able to see her lovely town in Oregon, we didn't see her home but think it was near the ocean, I believe. I have kept our PM's on this board and I was always awed by her wonderful writings of wisdom on the discussion board. I'm so happy for her to be with her husband again. I remember she mentioned that she was at one time inactive and then she returned to the church and got her Temple Recommend and did some ordinances for him. 6

I’m so sad to hear this. I had always hoped to get to the coast to meet her, but my own health issues prevented that. May her memory be for a blessing. 3

I think of her often when I paint. When her hands started to make it difficult to do so, she asked me if I'd want her oil paints and mailed it to me. She is/was a kind soul. I'm glad her struggle with dementia is finished, but she'll definitely be missed here in the meantime. 6

I almost met her back in 2017, when my brother and I and our wives passed through her hometown at the time, Lincoln City, OR, on the day that lovely solar eclipse passed through the US. Unfortunately, I hadn't planned on being there that day and hadn't made any advance arrangements (we were wandering around aimlessly) and she wasn't available. 2
Popular Post poptart Posted December 4, 2025 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2025 Garden Girl and a few of the souls here were like the LDS faithful mom would meet at BYUH, I'd sometimes meet them IRL. It takes a certain level of societal goodness and civility to produce good people like her, I imagine she's already received a royal welcome from family on the other side. 6
