Yeah, learning that helped me understand how a friend who was very happy in the Church and faithful and is now inactive now talks about how miserable he always was back in Church.

It's a really interesting but kind of creepy phenomenon.  It's not just a reinterpretation of memories but the actual altering of memories by the brain.  So weird.

We were there at the same time then.  I was there from March 11-April 13 and also have war stories from time spent in the call center.

I am going to assume from here on out that you were the really cute Sister missionary in the classroom next to mine.

Yeah, my journals have helped a bit with letting me go too far off the reservation. Yeah......too late. :(

Today what?

Sorry, I'm having massive problems with this thread for some reason.  Yesterday evening the LDS Church and Joseph Bishop each separately filed their "Reply" memos in relation to the Motions to Dismiss.  I am trying to upload them and post some thoughts, but the website's going hinky.

Thanks. I was just wondering what came next: Today while the sun shines? Today is the first day of the rest of your life? Or did you mean Tonight's the Night?

Here are the reply memoranda filed by the Church and Mr. Bishop yesterday.

I thought it was really odd to claim that other people (the church) thought he was honorable so she didn’t report the rape until she saw he wasn’t.  That’s irrelevant to the crime. And this response immediately launches into that in a very readable presentation.

Here's the response memo which Ms. Denson's attorneys filed a while back (the reply memoranda are responding to this document).

Thanks,

Oh, that was painful to read.

But  ...  the attorneys didn't make the case, the case made the attorneys respond as they did.

Yes, I think mr. Vernon is otherwise a reasonably good attorney. But this case ended up being a major stinker for him. He had a chance as long as his client followed his instructions, but that blew up once she destroyed the settlement negotiations.

Welp, I am getting closer to 40. Might be time to lower the old standards again.

Her antimormonism blunted her acquisitiveness/quest for healing (honestly don't care which is more true).

You two ought to look at any MTC pictures you might have and see if you can see the other one.

Ms Denson has started a GoFundMe for legal, travel, food expenses. I found that odd as well since she has so many supporters in the area to stay with.

Im assuming her attorney is working on contingency. Does anyone know?

I’ve lost some of my initial sympathy for her situation since seeing her support of the group that  is sure babies are being sacrificed on temple altars.

:o   Do you know where I can find out more about this?  (Just morbid curiosity, I'll admit ...)
