I can edit my very first post on here (the OP) if I'm on my computer. But, if I log in on my iphone, there is no edit button showing (only the quote option). Edited April 16, 2018 by ALarson

(I’m just on my phone and will see if it’s the same on my computer later, but I can edit this post just not those from months ago.) I've had the same problem here too. I've never caught what is different in times I can edit from times I can't.

For me, it is a matter of my rapidly writing out the monologue I am hearing in my head as I type. Add to that the fact that I get over-eager to hit the "submit" button before reading over what I have written and, well, that's why so many of my posts end up with an "edited by" stamp on them. I need to train myself to self-edit initially.

The idea that a religion should not 'hurt' people because god is love seems to be the relativist moral code that many embrace. The lds church is swimming up stream these days as many other christian chruches choose to reverse decisions they once held. However, islam seems to be a very conservative religion, which embraces their holy book without criticism. God's word is god's word and nothing should be changed. And this attitude seems just fine with many western moral relativists, especially when it comes to islamism which is on the accent in the west. Why the contradiction? If you go back, you'll see I said nothing about any specific policy. Yours was a general statement that some policies always hurt people but that, if it's from God, it's okay. I asked - should a hurtful policy not be reassessed simply because someone claims the policy is from God? In other words, is that the "get of jail free card" for policy making?

Glad to hear it’s just not my problem! Sounds like a few others experience the same thing. I’ve actually never tried to edit a post that is a few months old though (and quite honestly I’m not too concerned about it ).

Calm Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 (edited) For editing, try renewing the page if you get the too late to edit comment. It just worked for me on another topic for my IMac. It sometimes works, now I remember it, for my newer iPad. Be sure and copy what you wanted to edit if you haven't lost it yet, because renewing it will cause it to be lost for sure. It's function is not to work with Chrome though there could be some things they work together on. I just thought when you said that you were one of the rare ones with me that prefer wordperfect to word.

Loved them! Of course, my computer needs are simply basic internet, email, and word processing (no games or Skyping or anything like that). Maybe if I were more "normal" with my computer usage I would hate the old Windows products, too. I can't stand the newer and newer Windows stuff. I have an issue with Word that drives me nuts! When I type fast, the page view keeps shrinking and shrinking, and I have to go back constantly and reset it to 125%. But then, as I type fast, it just keeps shrinking and shrinking. It's really annoying. That never happened with Word Perfect!

california boy Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 An interesting new study that relates to this thread. FYI Quote Notably, the study authors found that religion may have acted as a protective factor against suicide attempts among heterosexual youth. Each increase in the level of importance of religion among straight youth was associated with a 17 percent reduction in recent suicide attempts. On the other hand, for lesbian and gay youth, increasing levels of religious importance were associated with increased odds of recent suicidal ideation. In fact, lesbian and gay youth who said that religion was important to them were 38 percent more likely to have had recent suicidal thoughts, compared to lesbian and gay youth who reported religion was less important. Religiosity among lesbians alone was linked to a 52 percent increased chance of recent suicidal ideation.

Those questioning their sexuality had the highest rate of recent thoughts about suicide at 16.4 percent, followed by bisexual individuals (11.4 percent) and lesbian or gay individuals (6.5 percent). The study shows a clear relationship between suicide and strong religious belief.

CMZ Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Maybe the Church should start doing everything the world says to do. What's taking them so long? Then the purpose of the Church after that could be to just serve refreshments.
