This reminds me of a John Pinette story. He was one of the few comedians who made me laugh until I cried and couldn't speak. RIP. I do have one other pet peeve ( or maybe a hundred ) , and that is the tendency of youth and millenials and even older people, particularly women, who ' upspeak ' at the end of every sentence . I thought that was reserved for the end of questions. Drives me nuts ( and it's a short drive ! ) 1
bsjkki Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 My pet peeve is hearing about my husbands pet peeve. Every time someone begins their talk in sacrament meeting by saying, “For those of you who don’t know me, my name is....” He turns to me and says, “So what is your name if we do know you?” 2
LittleNipper Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 My pet peeve is signing up for employer provided healthcare yearly. It gives me high blood pressure! 4

The only reason I could come up with is that they were letting their dogs out to go potty. But it bugged me, thinking of the heat being let out. I figured they were just young or something and don't think about their heat bill, or could be totally wrong about it. Its their heat bill, not yours. Why should it bother you? And yes, that is my pet peeve, people complaining about something other people do that has zero effect on them. Sorry Tacenda, I couldn't resist. Edited November 3, 2017 by mnn727

bluebell Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 It kills me when people use the wrong words when they are talking. For example, saying 'pacifically' instead of 'specifically' or 'supposably' instead of 'supposedly.' I never correct anyone because it's not worth making anyone feel badly about (unless they are a really close friend who I know would want to know) but it's like having to listen to nails on a chalkboard. 1

It's not a big pet peeve, but sometimes I see people write "prolly" instead of "probably", haha. My childhood friend and another gal at my husband's work will say odd things like "potatoe ships", or "sghettio's" . I'm a little worried that I've said "supposably" before though, ugg. I didn't realize, glad you set us straight!
Rivers Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 People who purposefully set the alarm clock too early and hit the snooze button several times. I had mission companions and now a wife that does it.

I cannot tell you how many nights I have cried myself to sleep because I do not have any friends.” 2

Benk Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Not being able to start a topic until 25 posts when there is a time sensitive pressing question! I jest. But SRSLY. 1

co-eternal Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 The reoccurring totally moot discussion in SS, EQ, or HP about who is or is not perdition. The last time it happened, I tuned out and read scriptures. And then I was asked what I thought. Since I was tuned out I had to asked them to repeat the question, that should have been a clue as to what I thought. But they insisted. So I said I know that The Father and Christ are doing everything they possibly can to save as many of us as will let them so who am I to have any opinion what so ever as to who they save and who they can not. That ended the discussion in that class and it has never come up in any class I've been in for over 7 years. Moot discussions at church are my pet peeve. 1

I'm sorry co-eternal. I'm here, ask away. Of course this board might not be for everyone. I think it takes time for those to get to know you. Hopefully it's not a board that appears clickish. There are many on this board with different faith traditions, or no faith traditions. That's what I love about it.
Guest Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 When I was working, serving "Bench Warrents" on people who, had they showed up in Court, might have had a $50.00 to $100.00 dollar fine. But now went to jail, and needed a $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 bail to get out!
MorningStar Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Any sentence that ends with "at its finest". I just think it's an annoying phrase. Eyebrows that look really fake. What the heck happened to women's eyebrows? When they have them tattooed on, sometimes it's so overly arched, they look like a villainess form a Disney cartoon. Why can't women just look natural? Too much money is spent trying to obtain what society thinks is supposedly beautiful. 1
3DOP Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 My pet peeve is "safety". The slogans that promote safety are also peeves which I pet.

So recently I had mine microbladed. It wasn't totally painfree, they do numbing. And so the microblading makes them look like they're so real, not just tattooed. At first I was worried because they were so dark, but then soon they faded a bit. But how fun that I get to wake up with eyebrows and not have to draw any on.

Or am I going to lose mine too?
