Popular Post The Nehor Posted May 8, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2016 Based on the post dates here I was not the only one who could not access the board for a few days? How did you cope with the shakes? Any severe withdrawal symptoms? Are you okay now? I ended up on top of a skyscraper in my underwear holding a gecko and a box of cheap chocolates with no recollection of how I got there but I think I am better now. Share your pain here. 11

I emailed a board friend and asked if she was having a problem and was relieved to know it wasn't just me... so I waited patiently, and visited my other LDS sites that were not affected... I watched the NCAA Championship volleyball game between BYU and Ohio State, and was so very disappointed that we lost... actually we made some critical errors, especially service errors by Ben Patch... he plays terrific, but has consistently served poorly throughout the season much of the time... usually long, for which he should have been coached to overcome. During the game he turned the ball over at critical times with bad serves, and Ohio took advantage of it big time. We lost the first two sets by 2 points each... (32 to 30, and 25 to 23) and the third by 8... for an Ohio sweep. Coach Olmstead said Ohio was the better team, but I don't agree and don't think that Ohio played so well as the fact that we didn't play up to our ability, making too many errors. We would be ahead by 3 or 4 points and our errors would allow Ohio to overcome our lead... anyway, I'm bummed... GG Edited May 8, 2016 by Garden Girl 4
Popular Post Duncan Posted May 8, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2016 It got so bad for me that I started to exercise and eat salad. Now, I am sitting and eating chicken wings! so things are pretty much back to normal so 14
Popular Post RevTestament Posted May 8, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2016 I was thinking of all the ways I was going to let the moderator who banned me have it.... Then it dawned on me that it must be a satan led cyber attack because of all the wonderful things we are doing on this board, and he is scared... 6
Popular Post Darren10 Posted May 8, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2016 (edited) I had no idea there was a shutdown. The only weird thing that happened to me was that a gecko, cheap box of chocolates, and, stranger yet, a pair of underwear of mine went missing. /Strange Edited May 8, 2016 by Darren10 8
Thinking Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I thought that I had been suspended (although I couldn't think of anything I wrote that would warrant suspension), then I tried to access the site from another source, and couldn't even get to the home page. 2
Jeanne Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I. Was. A. Mess. For sure thought I was on the outs here. 2
Popular Post cinepro Posted May 8, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2016 I wasn't surprised at all. Obviously, the board shut down was what Julie Rowe had been predicting, and so I had prepared by printing out the last three days of threads and spent the last two days meticulously responding to posts by writing out my responses on binder paper. I've contacted the original posters requesting their addresses and will be mailing my responses soon. Truly, those of us that have ears to hear have nothing to worry about. 29
Popular Post bcuzbcuz Posted May 8, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2016 The shutdown has changed my life. My wife and I began talking again. I found out she is a very interesting person. Since she sees that I'm back on line, she is mumbling in the background that she can't say the same thing about me. 7
Jeanne Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 You guys all crack me up!! You all found Life After Mormonism!! 4
JAHS Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I went over to the MormonDiscussion board and found others saying this board was down but didn't know why. 1
Popular Post Michael Sanders Posted May 8, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2016 I had to resort to getting my all-things Mormon fix by going to another board called Mormon Discussions. That short-lived excursion was kinda painful and I left with the feeling of - how can you have a debate board where everyone seems to be anti-mormon dissenters. I perused several threads and found very little push back to the anti-mormon propoganda. Nice to be back!!! Michael Sanders Book of Mormon Believer Independence, MO 5

That board was just crap to me. I don't need a grudge against myself. I thank all of you who put up with me here. I missed you. This board makes you think. It is a scary thought when Jeanne tries to think..so it is a good thing! 9
Popular Post canard78 Posted May 8, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2016 I've been bumping around a couple of other boards... but they're not the same. This is the only board that has the range of perspectives where you can really get into a proper back and forth on a topic. The wave of relief when I heard it was back online can only be compared to stuffing my face with a big sugary pastry or donut when I have the 3pm sugar shakes. It worried me. And then I buried the worry. 7

StayLDS and the LDS.net discussion board are pretty good. I barely introduced myself on the New Order Mormon Board and was denounced as a troll. Apparently trolls breathe. That's how you can recognize a troll. If it breathes, you've found one. Who knew? Edited May 9, 2016 by flameburns623 5
