The Nehor Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 My bank account shrunk today. Probably because I bought some stuff. Mine shot up because I deposited some checks.
PeterPear Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 She likely made her announcement after reaching 90% of her sales goal.
Duncan Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Plus, how are you going to sniff all that Coke...oh, wait... if you ever go into stand up you should open with that! it's Coca Cola!
ttribe Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 if you ever go into stand up you should open with that! it's Coca Cola! Yeah, yeah, I know. I was just playing with the words for fun. 1
Popular Post juliann Posted September 16, 2015 Popular Post Posted September 16, 2015 I think it is the end of the world as she knows it. Now if only Visions of Glory would be put on the spurious list.... 6
rongo Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Visions of Glory isn't as bad as the Julia Rowe stuff. Not even close. 1
Calm Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) I've just read her online stuff, I've read Visions of Glory...I find it very undoctrinal, very unrealistic in his story telling, very selfaggrandizing in his future callings...seriously, his office is next to Christ's in the temple...he is even more buddy buddy with the Lord than the Prophet is, and quite racist. He can not only read people's minds, but furnitures' as well. His birth is so important he gets two angels pretending to be nurses to save him. Half the apostles are killed iirc but he is too important to die, too needed to save the less fortunate, etc. So he gets special protection.I get the impression that Spencer is more focused on 'what all this means about ME' while JR is more telling what is happening to others, but that just may be her version pn the website, she may get more into how special she is in her books. Being female it is harder for her to come up with some major appointment in the Church and convince people of the likelihood. Edited September 16, 2015 by Calm 1
The Nehor Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) I think it is the end of the world as she knows it. Now if only Visions of Glory would be put on the spurious list.... Amen. Visions of Glory isn't as bad as the Julia Rowe stuff. Not even close. I think the archangel Spencer might have a longer reign due to his lack of predictions. It even tops those "Left Behind" books. Does Satan just have no imagination? Seriously, there are days I think maybe I (or better yet, someone with more charisma) should apostasize and gather a following just to show these nitwits how to do it. If people will follow this rubbish imagine how dangerous someone who actually knows how to write, has a bit more subtlety, and knows what they are talking about could be. Alan Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Thanks. So it's a personal pension plan. So here's another question. If Julie Rowe is found to be a fraud, not just wrong or mistaken etc, but a deliberate fraud aimed at selling her books and promoting her Energy Healing business (I know this would be hard to prove) could she be sued by those who have cashed in their 401(k)'s early, resulting in the loss of $thousands?

I don't think so. Julie Rowe has a number of disclaimers on her site stating that her book, lectures and other activities are for "entertainment" purposes, kind of like a palm or tarot card reader.

bluebell Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I read an article yesterday from what looked like a new source in Great Britain, which reported on the whole Julie Rowe, prepper movement thing, and they included how the deadly floods in Hildale and Zion NP were a fulfillment of her prophecy concerning the coming of deadly floods. Have any of her actual followers tried to make that connection?

Why not a flood in a polygamist community?

Oh, for sure anything's possible. We are a people enamored with reading the signs of the times or following those who claim to have a special insight whether they have any authority to make such claims or not. I was wondering specifically about Julie Rowe's predictions though.
ttribe Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Wasn't there a science fiction writer who started a group ? L. Ron Hubbard - Scientology
thesometimesaint Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 End Times predictions are at least 2000 years old. If we both had a nickle for each one of them we'd be more that spectacularly wealthy. OTOH I do know the name of the Church.
