This person is not a thinker; apparently does not know the meaning of nuanced because she only sees in black and white without even grey as being visible. She is an advocate for a specific way of life and anyone or anything that conflicts with her vision of how life must be is cast off.  

 

I don't spend time thinking about her and just hope she finds happiness in the world she is creating around her.

In my experience, strict obedience has never been demanded and harshly enforced.  Kate is such a drama queen. The Church did not submit to her demands and she blames the church for it.  Never bothering to look into the mirror to correct her own faults first before lecturing the Church and the Lord how to behave and what should be done.

Interesting, I hadn`t necessarily put this together in exactly the way you said it.  I struggle with black and white thinkers which would help explain a few things that have gone on in my head about her.

I wonder what Kate Kelly would say in response to the following words of wisdom from Paul (I also wonder if she ever read them):

25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

She probably feels like she was rejected by Mormons so now she's lashing out with a 'well, you're all dumb anyway!' kind of thing.

Yes, that's why she's so offended. But like it or not, the scriptures testify that humility is one of the greatest qualifiers for one bing called to do God's work Why? Because the humble and inadequate are more likely to turn to God and not to themselves for strength.and wisdom. The kingdom of God is to be built by God's Spirit and not by the wisdom of the proud, haughty and worldly wise.

I wonder if she realized she was coming across pretty dang arrogant in that statement.   It is a pretty common part of many of us, though, where we talk passed each other because we are unwilling/unable/late in trying to fully understand the other person's point of view so we can identify the agreements and do something about those, while leaving the disagreements until later.

 

I think God does expect perfect obedience to Him (which is always personal best, given what we know and can believe, given our experiences AND quick repentance).   So Sister Kelly should take up that problem with Him.
