May want to look up endemic again. Endemic is where you get (usually seasonal) outbreaks of a disease. Most likely it will be two to four years more before it becomes endemic due to everyone getting it and hospitalizations and deaths will become a significant but predictable and mostly part of the medical landscape. We are still dealing with the biggest wave of infections yet. It is not endemic.

It’s close enough to endemic that the hysteria needs end.

What hysteria? I am becoming convinced that for many seeing someone wearing a mask is evidence of hysteria.

When we have a vaccine and booster vaccines that are very effective at preventing severe illness, masks are mostly unnecessary in my opinion.

I guess everyone is different in how they assess risk.

Where is the hysteria?

College students protesting the lifting of mask mandates.  Parents making their kids wear masks.  Young healthy people being forced to get boostered. Fully vaccinated and boosted people afraid to go back to church in person.  Stuff like that.

I worked in healthcare through the pandemic.  I know how bad Covid can be.  So I get why people are scared.  But still….

I'd love to have access to references for the following claims, please:

The Canadian trucker movement’s literal goal from there [sic] funding site was to force the nation’s leadership to dissolve the recently democratically elected parliament ...

This working class protest somehow had an average donation value near $1000 ...

Most of the funding came from the US and overseas in large values....

They [the trucks] are way too new and have little wear and tear and many are identical models. Almost as if someone just bought a bunch of them ...

It did not win hearts and minds. It did not bring converts to the cause.

Thanks! I've been trying to follow this issue a bit and literally have read none of the above in any media.

VAERS is essentially a passive system.  McCullough claims that about 85% of the reports are filled out by physicians.   The rest of the reports are filled out by the ones suffering from the 'adverse events' or those close to them; but these are encouraged to fill in information about their attending physicians, etc., who oversaw the shots and could verify the bad reaction.  Being a passive system, the reports filed, probably cover something like 1 out of 5 events that actually occurred, with estimates as low as  1 out 10 or more.

Hard to imagine that a significant number of these reports would be falsely filed.

And yes, VAERS was meant to be an early warning system tracking adverse events for a given vaccine, which would and should encourage further investigation.  Unfortunately, follow up has been sadly neglected in the case of the mRNA shots.  Funding should be allocated for both verification and medical investigations into the claims, to include autopsies.

Your "animal bites" comment comes across as rather snide . . . . don't you think?

Once again, McCullough has determined that there exist ~250 papers displaying studies that indicate the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine in the treatment/amelioration of COVID-19, or the the illness caused by the earlier version of the SARS-CoV virus.

There have been around 3,000 studies done on this.  I wonder what methodology McCullough's used to narrow those results to 250 papers.  Any mention of what criteria he used to exclude around 2,750 studies, and why he used that criteria?  Without a transparent review of his process, it comes off as biased cherry picking without regard to study strengths/weaknesses.  If only 250 out of 3,000 studies show some potential efficacy - that isn't a favorable commentary on the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine.

Here is a systematic review and meta-analysis of those nearly 3,000 studies with the inclusion criteria of of "blinded, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trials".  In other words, it only selected for the gold-standard trials and did not base their inclusion criteria on results of the studies (unbiased), but on the methodology and excluded all studies that did not meet their strict gold-standards.  The results?

Quote

Available evidence based on the results of blinded, placebo-controlled RCTs showed no clinical benefits of HCQ as pre-and post-exposure prophylaxis and treatment of non-hospitalized and hospitalized patients with COVID-19.

Parents making their kids wear masks is not hysteria nor as damaging as many have tried to portray. Kids are fine with it. Well, unless their parents make it clear they shouldn’t be fine with it. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy that kids whose parents think masks will damage them are damaged by them. Forced to get boosters? There isn’t any potential harm in a booster shot. I am not surprised there are people who don’t want to return to church. We are in the biggest Covid wave so far. It is thankfully going down but there is still a lot of spread.

Well sure. I mean you could have done it yourself since VAERS is searchable but here's a selection.

Symptoms
Results are sorted in by-variable order
Move this column one place to the right Events Reported Click to sort by Events Reported ascending Click to sort by Events Reported descending
Move this column one place to the left Percent (of 434) Click to sort by Percent (of 434) ascending Click to sort by Percent (of 434) descending
ANIMAL BITE 17 3.92%
ARTHROPOD BITE 130 29.95%
BITE 32 7.37%
INFECTED BITE 6 1.38%
MULTIPLE PREGNANCY 2 0.46%
PREGNANCY 244 56.22%
PREGNANCY WITH ADVANCED MATERNAL AGE 3 0.69%
SNAKE BITE 1 0.23%
UNINTENDED PREGNANCY 1 0.23%
Total 436 100.46%

What was the search expression you used, to include your exclusion clause that allowed you to screen out the other symptoms, and did you include all 4 symptom columns, or focus just on the 1st column.  My sense is that your list loses validity if you ignore other listed symptoms for the same VAERS ID.

And the 436 events reported with these odd 'symptoms' constitute only a small fraction of the total COVID-related report IDs (~ 0.000541)

The point isn't numbers or double counts. It's entries that are should not be in there at all.

The count of adverse events that aren't actually adverse events should be zero.

Yes, but keep in mind that reported side effects to VAERS only accounts for a tiny fraction of real-world numbers.  I mean, there are probably hundreds of thousands of people suffering from tick bites, etc. as a side effect of Covid vaccine.

Actually, hospital protocols have been interpreted to strongly imply that key elements of these therapies should be denied.  And they are, almost across the board.   You apparently haven't heard, read or listened to the myriad testimonies of this reality.  Perhaps, now, hospitals are loosening up.  I hope so.

As a simple test, go to your primary care physician and ask him/her for a prescription for hydroxchloroquine and/or ivermectin and why you want it, to see what he/she says.   The next test would be to see if your local pharmacy will even issue it if the doctor does  prescribe it.  There are many reports of pharmacies unwilling to fill these prescriptions.

And you have to be more specific about what you regard as anecdotal, and therefore, non-evidence.  For my friend hearing about the cadaver count from the owner of a well-known local Funeral Home, this information is a first-hand account of his friends direct experience.  For me, its 2nd hand.   Now, yes, you could call it anecdotal evidence unless my friend went down to the morgue and did the count with its director friend.  It then becomes direct evidence to my friend.  Same with you.   But for both of us, because of the trust we have with one another, the current information is good evidence, even though anecdotal.

I'm telling you, this is craziness.  An MD can prescribe all these alternative theories.  Hydroxchloroquine and/or ivermectine.  But the MD knows that these alternative theories are horse **** instead and don't prescribe them at all.  But I am aware of one or two who do prescribe these things.  I had a friend with a severe case of Covid.  The fight for a particular therapy (here, hydrochloroquine) is between doctor and patient.

What a hospital protocol says would be meanless. The MD just tells the patient to show up in his office.

Anecdotal evidence, generally in a case like this, is not admissible in a court of law.

Kids need to live normal childhoods.  There’s no good reason for them to be wearing masks all day.  They are the least vulnerable to Covid.  The more vulnerable can get enough jabs to look like the guy from Hellraiser.  There are already speech therapists speaking out about  effects of mask wearing in speech development in children.  I guarantee that years down the road we’ll learn more and more about the physiological and developmental harm caused by forcing kids to mask.

Forcing young people to get boosted  makes no sense because they are at low risk to getting severely ill from Covid and younger males have a higher risk of myocarditis.  It should be a personal medical decision.

I understand the immune compromised being afraid to go to church, but most vaccinated and boosted people should have very little worry in going back to church. Especially with this new Omicold variant being as mild as it is.

President Nelson called the vaccine a Godsend.  If we truly believe this, we should get the jabs and live our lives.

I do.  And I have made the same observation myself about kids and their reactions to masks.

Old enough to be influenced by their parents, like most school-aged children.

Masks are less about catching it and more about spreading it. There are plenty of adults in schools. I think one needs to look at the incidence of illness for teachers and their social contacts before saying there is no good reason.  How can we expect teachers and staff to continue teaching, etc if we demonstrate we don’t care about their safety?

Is it worse than the risk of getting Covid and having similar issues?  Are all vaccines a problem or just some?

No, but my nieces and nephews are fine with it. If you ask them about masks they talk about the cool one they saw one kid wearing or that one silly one and then talk about something else because talking about masks is boring. They accept it as something they have to do and do it. I am sure if mom and dad are at home screaming at the TV about how masks are murder then yes, it is going to screw them up. That is because bad parents mess up their kids whether there is a pandemic or not.

Maybe the parents should interact with their kids at home when they aren’t all wearing masks. See, that is how you do the  ‘single guy telling all the parents they are doing it wrong’ bit. Physiological harm? What?

Myocarditis isn’t a risk to a young male unless they have serious cardiac issues in which case they should still get the vaccine. Myocarditis heals.

You sure like to police the emotions of others don’t you?

And Omicold? Really?
