No one at church headquarters cares about the status of individual members. We are asked the question about tithing status anyway for temple recommends and other occasions.

I get to present myself and my family before the Judge of Israel; also as a representative of Christ. It is a salfivic moment for me. I am confirming not only my tithing, but my affirmation of mine and my families participation in the community. Such as when the tents of the families were turned toward King Benjamin. I've heard people here say that their bishop gives no prayer, but I have always had the bishops here pray over and behalf of my family, sometimes even kneeling, particularly that the windows of heaven would be unlocked, for ME, not generally, but for ME. Keys turning. I have relied and trusted on that as miracle, since most of my life has been marked with deep poverty, and I am where am I at only by the Lord and not by any other means. I think that tithing settlement is a highly important moment for my children, both in terms of learning about tithing, as well as coming before their bishop. The bishop gets to say a few kind words to all of us, and hear what we have been doing and intend to do. Last, but not least, we always get candy at the end of our tithing settlement. It's several minutes of peace and the spirit of Christ. As opposed to the other meetings that are too long, have the stress of callings, have lessons I don't always agree with, and (when I was a young mother) noisy kids I was handling instead of the Spirit. 3

No idea, except that it I suppose it could aid as an indication of the general level of activity and faithfulness of the members in the whole church.
