It's "dipa dinga dong ding," not "ba ba ding a dong ding."

And it's "moon, blue moon, blue moon," not "moo moo moo blue moon."

Get it right!

I agree that the lead singer in the second refrain dominates with the phrasing you state, but in the introduction third line, the chorus singers sing ”moo moo moo blue moon and the lead singer, Cornelius Harp, voices in with a few ”moon” to their ”moo moo moo”s.

But I will listen more intently and ask the gods of good music to confirm my interpretation.

I feel that real signs from God will last longer than a day. Such as the moon turning to blood in the scriptures will be night after night etc..

so that no one can say they did not know.  I also feel we are no where near end times at all.

Happens for weeks at a time when there are fires here in LA.

They happen when the wind blows from the east, which blows the smoke west over the ocean, so every sunset is red and most of the day it shines through the smoke clouds and is red all day as well.

Surely there has to be more to it than that.

From the original post.

Reposted as you missed the emphasized part.

“The Talmud states that Israel is judged by our actions, by our commitment to Hashem (God), and not by astrological signs,” Rabbi Berger told Breaking Israel News. “In fact, the Talmud states that a lunar eclipse is a bad sign for those who hate Israel.”

So we are not judged by  astrological signs, unless we are against Israel.  THEN those are judged by astrological signs.

Got it.

Here is hoping Christ descends in glory tomorrow. Not sure if I will burn at his Coming or not but it will be nice for it to be over one way or the other.

Tithing is fire insurance.

Tithing alone guarantees survival? I pay on net. Does that mean I am okay or do I have to pay on gross?

I don't want to open a can here as tithing is between you and the Lord - and I think that's exactly why it's fire insurance. If you've developed enough of a relationship with the Lord to figure out how to pay tithing correctly, you will not be burned. Also, I do not want to derail this thread that is about the super blood moon. With that disclaimer, here's my personal view:

D&C 64:23 Behold, now it is called today until the coming of the Son of Man, and verily it is a day of sacrifice, and a day for the tithing of my people; for he that is tithed shall not be burned at his coming.

24 For after today cometh the burning—this is speaking after the manner of the Lord—for verily I say, tomorrow all the proud and they that do wickedly shall be as stubble; and I will burn them up, for I am the Lord of Hosts; and I will not spare any that remain in Babylon.

I too pay net, and here's my reason. I feel tithing is a law of exactness. The Lord doesn't want you to pay 11 percent or 9 percent. He wants you to render to caesar and then render to the Lord. Those things which are caesar's are not the Lord's - if they were He wouldn't have worded it in that order imho.

Mark 12:7 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Cæsar the things that are Cæsar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.

So you don't tithe Caesar's stuff. And the Lord's things are not yours to spend on expenses or anything. I could go deeper into that with percentages and how when Caesar robs you blind, gross tithing makes less and less sense until it becomes impossible.

Verse 24 is key. Those who are A. Proud and B. Do wickedly shall be burned. Some people who pay tithing are proud and some are wicked, but as a general rule of thumb - again in my very humble opinion - the proud might overpay and be bragging about gross or rounding up to 11 percent whereas the wicked may be justifying underpaying. As a law of exactness I think it's less about being off by a few pennies and more about your relationship to God where tithing is a measure of where you are in that relationship. Are you overpaying to be on the "safe side" without seeking after exactness and seeking after the Lord's mind on the matter, or are you justifying underpayment?  Fire insurance. :)

To return to the topic, my wife saw the Super Blue Blood Moon this morning while dropping the kids off at school. She said it was beautiful.

I had a nice moonlit walk through the woods with my dog last night.  He just had to show me the possum den he found!  What a beautiful night!

Well I was waiting for some super blue-blood to moon me today but it never happened.

Does that mean the church is false?

Welcome to the forum Alaris! You have to reach 25 posts.

Good to know! Thank you! I really like what I see here so far. It looks a bit friendlier here than the last scene so far, and I'm seeing people discussing what the mysteries may be without being condemned for heresy!

I like this multiple quote feature - super cool. :) The church is still true my friend.

No, it means tonight hasn't come yet!

(But you haven't made me want to go outside tonight and get mooned.)

The window for viewing the blood moon was this morning - 7 AM PST - 8 AM PST on the west coast.

Hehe. I do that a lot apparently. Can I ask your last scene?

I believe this forum to be one of the more intellectually stimulating LDS forums. Much more active than Mormonhub for instance. There are a number of scholars who post here.  Mr. M. Bukowski, the philosophical Mormon, who you are meeting, Scott Lloyd, a Church columnist, Clark Goble(what r u anyway Clark?), Nevo, Robert, some attorney scholar wannabees(if you get all bent out of shape it is because I can include myself here), Brant Gardner, etc. We have a couple from FAIR Mormon such as Calm, some sweethearts, a couple of pot stirrers(besides Mr Bukowski), and now Alaris!

I'll PM you (if I can - I'm guessing I have to wait until 25 posts there as well) as I do not want to post anything publicly that could be misconstrued as disparaging to this site. I have made a lot of friends on this particular site and plan to continue to post there unless otherwise prompted by the Spirit.

I write articles on my blog (in my sig) and am looking for an intellectually stimulating place for feedback and for edification as I fulfill the end of my creation to seek the mysteries until I know them in full! :)

Then you are at the right place my friend, although the part about knowing the mysteries in full, I'm not so sure about....

How do you say I picked God's brain? I've been a seeker all my life, and well, can honestly say I'm still seeking. But if you want exposure to different LDS viewpoints, there are some here.

I was able to PM you after all! The more I learn the more I realize there is still yet to learn.

I perused your blog, and well, came to a disagreement almost immediately. In your blog you write:

Quote

I believe the truth of our eternal course will soon be unveiled upon the housetops, and the adversary knows that these truths will come to light as his time comes to an end. He knows he has but a short time. This context has appropriately refocused my efforts on demonstrating clearly that the Elect One is indeed the Davidic Servant--the same person the scriptures refer to as "The Rod" in Isaiah 11 and D&C 113, and the same person who is called the "One Mighty and Strong" in D&C 85. As such, I will be using Isaiah 11 as the thread in this article to demonstrate this truth that the Elect One is the Rod & the One Mighty and Strong, or the Davidic Servant.

However, from D&C we read

D&C 113:1 Who is the Stem of Jesse spoken of in the 1st, 2d, 3d, 4th, and 5th verses of the 11th chapter of Isaiah?

2 Verily thus saith the Lord: It is Christ.

3 What is the rod spoken of in the first verse of the 11th chapter of Isaiah, that should come of the Stem of Jesse?

4 Behold, thus saith the Lord: It is a servant in the hands of Christ, who is partly a descendant of Jesse as well as of Ephraim, or of the house of Joseph, on whom there is laid much power.

5 What is the root of Jesse spoken of in the 10th verse of the 11th chapter?

6 Behold, thus saith the Lord, it is a descendant of Jesse, as well as of Joseph, unto whom rightly belongs the priesthood, and the keys of the kingdom, for an ensign, and for the gathering of my people in the last days.

The rod is Joseph Smith, so cannot be the branch growing from the root. You are combining two separate people. But I agree with you that the Branch is the latter-day ensign.

The name David is not an earthly name. It is a priesthood key, which Christ has held for at least 2000 years. So, if you are waiting for some dude named David to come along, I doubt he will be named David anymore than Yeshua was. Same with Immanuel.

Unfortunately, I believe Enoch is a spurious book. It may have some truth, but is not reliable.

However, I do believe in MMP, and agree that the latter-day ensign has yet to be seen by man. Man sees without seeing, and the world is largely in darkness again. I hardly think Enoch 62:14 is your best support form MMP. That is to be found all over scripture including the rod from Joseph's mouth.

You also state:

Quote

There are three important points to consider. First, Joseph Fielding Smith was not The Prophet when he published Answers to Gospel Questions. Second, the basis of the quote is false—Joseph Smith Jr. never says reincarnation is a doctrine of the devil. In the case of our founding prophet, he cited the doctrine of the “transmigration of souls” – or the doctrine of a soul of a father passing on to the son – to be false (Joseph Smith, History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7 Vols. 2:307 or TPJS, pp. 104-105.)

I just want to caution you that reincarnation as taught in the world is a doctrine of the devil. You should not use that word in connection with MMP. Reincarnation teaches that spirits come back to live in this world as another life, born, etc. This is contrary to Hebrews which teaches that we live this life but one time and then are judged. MMP says that we live this life, and most will be saved. Yet, as I see it, in a new world with a new beginning in the word, we have another chance to progress onto the perfection of God. It is in my mind, clearly a different teaching.

I'd be happy to address in a new thread as I don't want to derail the super blue blood moon. It looks like I can only post in social, so I'll see if I can quote you over there.
