No more requirement for dresses or skirts circa 1972. This is progress. I had no idea dresses/skirts were still required. Also, paid parental leave (which really is a great thing) and a new wellness center on the 7th floor show the church is catching up to the 80's. My question is this... Does the church feel any embarrassment for being so far behind the times or do they just not recognize it? Elder Quentin L. I can only assume that you hide out outside the COB with a camera making rough BMI calculations for each employee as they enter and exit the building. This mental image amuses me. My daughter works for the real estate arm of the church, and I remember asking her awhile back if they offer maternity leave and was shocked they didn't. So the church was really behind on that one. But glad they caught up.

No reason they can't wear pants save tradition at this point (I am not sure there was ever a policy against pants on women, but it wasn't around in the early 90s from what I saw being worn to church on Sundays). Especially the dress code, that one is funny how old it is, but at least that one isn't a serious problem, its just sad and funny. The one serious problem that they finally corrected is paid maternity leave for women. The article said they only had unpaid leave in the past. That is offensive how backwards that policy was. I'm very upset as I never knew the church had such an abysmal policy as no paid maternity leave. Embarrassing is an understatement. 1
