Jesus is OUR LORD and GOD 3 NEPHI 19:18

Jesus is GOD from ETERNITY  Mosiah 3:5

Jesus is GOD ABOVE ALL  MOSIAH 5:15

Jesus is the ETERNAL GOD 2 Nephi 26:12

Jesus is part of the TRINITY and GODHEAD  2 Nephi 31;21, Alma 11:44 and Mormon 7:7  do I need to be any clearer the Book of Mormon teaches the creeds of the 4th and 5th century which teaches within the nature of the ONE GOD three separate and distinct persons exist. Jesus prayed to God the Father a separate persons . Can any LDS find anything in the Book of Mormon that disagrees with the Creeds other than the verses that lapse into modalism Ether 3:14, Mosiah 16:15 and Mosiah 15:3-4 :)

As I teach math to my kids I tell them that what multiplication is is adding groups of numbers. I have 7 boxes with 8 oranges in each box. How many oranges do I have? Groups of numbers. Multiplication does not work for the God head because we are not talking about groups of people in each "box".

i just learned a trick with 9 times tables that i wished my teachers had told to me. You have ten fingers. Put them all out in front of you. Now say you want to times 9 by 4. Starting from your left pinky, count in four fingers and put that finger down. (Your left pointer finger should be down) ok how many fingers are up to the left of that downed finger? 3 and how many fingers are up to the right of it? 6. So the answer is 36. now lets try 7 * 9. So now your right pointer finger should be down. The answer is just the first answer backwards. 63. Because at 5 * 9 =45 and 6 * 9= 54, everything from that point is just reversed. If I would have known that in grade school it wouldnt have taken me so long to pass off my 9s times tables as it did. I have it memorized now but i always had trouble back then.

Sorry for the derail.

Derail added...yes but don't you think overall it is best to use flashcards to memorize, my daughter told me my grandson's school teacher doesn't have them do that, and it's driving me crazy because he's in 4th grade and doesn't know them. But will sure show them this neat trick, thank you!

Its easier to just memorize the multiplication table.  Besides that wouldn't work for me as I am missing a finger.  I can't even count to ten.

Get some flash cards and have mom teach him.  It is also easy to make a mult. chart in a spread sheet.

Tried that, and she said he already spends too much time on homework and flashcards would compound the struggles they have over it. I can't win for losing.

Btw, I heard another EV talk about the Trinity today. They said we should just go by what the Bible said. One thing it says is the HG is Jehovah, Jesus is Jehovah and God is Jehovah. And that's about all they know, after that it's understanding that God is way beyond us, and we are to just remember what is in the scriptures for instance the book of Acts alone could get us by. I think I heard that right. Anyway, I really need to get in the book, never have and it's pitiful to say the least.

Another cool trick with the number 9.

In multiply by 9 the sum of the integers in the answer always equals 9.

9x9=81; 8+1=9

9x8=72; 7+2=9

9x7=63; 6+3=9

etc., etc., etc..

Cool, wished I'd known this the other day when sub'ing 3rd grade. Edited by Tacenda

When getting into any grade higher, it is much easier to have multiplication memorized.  Time will be saved.  I suppose the teacher just thinks that enough repetition will do the same thing, but having to reason out basic math facts when doing higher math formulas….big time factor and more likely to make mistakes.  If you are depending on tricks, you still have to memorize all the tricks for the various numbers.

My advice, find a computer/video game that involves basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).  Make it a game iow and then reward him for getting a certain level of proficency by taking him out for a one on one dinner at a place of his choice or something else he might like to do just with you.

We are on the same page. Going to try this after getting my daughter's permission, I kind of became that meddling G-ma that I've tried not to be. My daughter was in resource in school, and even said she didn't really know how to divide well so she thinks it doesn't matter and that's why we have calculators. That's what I'm up against. Thanks Cal!

What do you mean?

I just do not understand what your saying here:

I am so very GLAD that they finally banned you.  "latter-day stains" indeed.  Typo? or deliberate insult?  I'm sure you'd say the former, but I believe the latter.

Good riddance.

two things:

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

(Proverbs 24:17-18)

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

(Galatians 4:16)

When you register on the board, you agree to abide by the rulings of its moderators.

By coming back after being banned as a sock puppet over and over again you are lying when you make that agreement.

Do you really think God wants someone who lies to represent him?

Who says you are an enemy?

In order to fall you have to be at a higher point to begin with

If a visitor entered my clubhouse and began acting like an obnoxious bigot, why should I not be happy that he is kicked out? His behavior (exemplified by his creating sock puppets) has caused him to be excluded from society. The other thing is, you have no idea how to use scriptures anyway. That verse in Proverbs is exhorting the righteous to not taking pleasure over the enemy's fall -- in order to avoid having the Lord turn away His wrath from him. So, you admit your unrighteous behavior thereby.

And as to your telling the truth? Balderdash. All you have is private interpretations of the scriptures.

Good riddance again!

Now, create another sock puppet to respond.

And as to your telling the truth?

Why should anyone believe he is telling the truth when he must live a lie to post as a sock puppet?  He has demonstrated he so little values the truth he will give it up for only the price of posting on a message board.  How much more of the gospel will he be willing to dispense with for something he actually wants or values or needs.

I hope he truly doesn't value the gospel so little that he so quickly, without thought sells it for a pottage of false pride to pretend he is posting for God on our little message board, that it was carelessness of attention and not carelessness of the trutth so that he actually just forgot about the rules or didn't pay close enough attention, but that now it has been brought to his attention that he gave his promise/his agreement…even a covenant one could say…to abide by the board rules when posting here that he will now value his personal integrity and God's commandment of honesty higher than the opportunity to post here.  Too bad he squander the opportunity and left us with nothing of real value, save being taught how thoughtless and meaningless and empty God's Word can be in the hands of someone who doesn't really care about communicating, but rather uses it to attack another, not to make connections but to strike out.

Why would God want him to commit such foolish and useless sin in association with his Word?

Nope, he's both.  You really need to quit telling us what we believe if you don't understand it correctly.

It appears you think that no one has criticized these positions over the last few hundreds of years, but they have.

There are no assumptions when adding whole numbers

1 + 1 + 1 = 3, can you interpret that differently and find a different answer?

Can you challenge that?
