ERayR Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Except that 1x1x1 does not mean one person and another person and another person, it means count one person, then count that one person again. So you have one person on one side and one god on another. Bad mathematics is not clear at all, just confusing….and wrong. I am not impressed with his math skills either.
ERayR Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Sabelliism and modalism are both rejected by Holy Catholics who teach 3 separate and distinct persons represent the ONE GODHEAD not 3 gods in godhead like LDS teach. History of Joseph Smith page 370 Your logic skills are not so good either. If 3 separate persons are all in one Godhead then 1+1+1=3 Gods.
MormonFreeThinker Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I am not impressed with his math skills either. I am not impressed with your pseudoscience.
theplains Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Sorry, I don't follow. In post 84, you said, he [Jesus] 2] created the earth on which we dwell. I was just mentioning thatthe LDS teaching manual says others beside Jesus helped to create the earth. No question. Justa statement, broadening the context. Thanks,Jim
HOLY CATHOLIC Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 One of the things I hear Mormons say is " Jesus said the Father is greater than I " which they say contradicts the Trinity which it doesn't in fact on line 33 of the Athanasion Creed it says Jesus was inferior to the Father which goes along with Phil 2:6-8 where Jesus we our told shared equality with Father but humbled himself and put himself in a slave position and 2 Cor 8:9 where he was Rich yet became poor
Tacenda Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 How many faiths out there believe Jesus and Lucifer are brothers? Why is it so few?
Stargazer Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.(Romans 1:21) the difference is that the church of Joseph Smith of latter-day stains don't believe Jesus is any better or different than them in essence, just another god-man that's "farther along" and happened to be especially good at following commands.but the ones to whom it is given to know Him understand that He is all those things said of Him in Isaiah 9:6, which was misquoted in the posts previous. I am so very GLAD that they finally banned you. "latter-day stains" indeed. Typo? or deliberate insult? I'm sure you'd say the former, but I believe the latter. Good riddance. Stargazer Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I'm tellin' ya... The intra account is a Turing Test. Don't be duped! That's software you're talking to! A complex state machine! Hardly. A complex state machine would at least be able to spell correctly.
Stargazer Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 How many faiths out there believe Jesus and Lucifer are brothers? Why is it so few? ??? The vast bulk of Christian denominations accept the Trinity. How can Lucifer be the brother of Jesus then? It's at least one reason why they go bug-eyed upon hearing it. And for those who don't really understand the Trinity, they can't see how the two could be so closely related. We are virtually the only Christian faith that teaches that Jesus is literally the Son of God, or, in other words, that Jesus was created by the Father. The Trinitarian doctrine calls for Jesus to be co-eternal with the Father, and therefore CANNOT have come from the Father. Long time ago there was a big hairy argument about whether the Holy Spirit proceeded from both the Father and the Son, or from just the Father, the result of which argument was the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches declaring each other to be heretics. In either model, Lucifer cannot possibly be Jesus's brother. At best, Lucifer is a son of God who fell from his station. In short, we are the virtually the only Christian denomination which proclaims the absolute supremacy of the Father. 1
Jim Stiles Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 But you don't believe in physics or biology. Good point, the earliest definition of the trinity dates to the year 444 AD Sechnall of Ireland "the Trinity of the sacred Name and teaches one being in three persons" (Hymn in Praise of St. Patrick 22 [A.D. 444]). http://www.catholic.com/tracts/the-trinity Tertullian used the word in Trinity in its current meaning and he lived from 160 to 225. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tertullian
JLHPROF Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 How many faiths out there believe Jesus and Lucifer are brothers? Why is it so few? Because it requires a belief in pre-mortality, and most Christian religions believe our spirits are created in utero at the same time as our bodies. 1
danielwoods Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 How many faiths out there believe Jesus and Lucifer are brothers? Why is it so few? Because most all Christian faiths trust the teaching of the Bible when it says this about Jesus:"16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." (Colossians 1) So, according to this, Jesus created Lucifer, and all things. Even intelligences. All things.

Anakin7 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 True LDS Doctrine/Teaching/Walk is that we believe in the True Godhead - An Anchient Monarch Eastern Economic Social Godhead Trinity. We do not believe that 3 "Persons" reside in "the nature" of God because this would mean that God is in reality "Nature". This is the Theologians and Philosophers god, not the True God of The True Prophets/Hebrews/Israelites of the O.T or of The True Prophets/Apostles/Saints/Christians of The N.T. What has Athens to do with Jerusalem ?. There have been a # of studies on this by non LDS and LDS Professors/Scholars/Theologians that this is the case. In His Debt/Grace Anakin7
Anakin7 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) In non LDS Christianity Jesus is "The Spirit Father/Creator of Lucifer" since he created "All Things". In His Debt/Grace Anakin7 Edited January 23, 2015 by Anakin7
Mars Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 So we think they're brothers. Evangelicals think they're a father/son. Why is one worse than the other? 1
Tacenda Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 A semi well known born-again Mormon now non-Mormon, gave an analogy that I think of often, though I don't know if this person believes it today. They said look at it as three candles that are one flame. So you have the center candle with a flame and take two other candles and light them with the center which represents God and they become Gods too. I guess this was a way to explain away that one God can be both father and son to each other. To each their own I guess, it's all a mystery unless you're Joseph Smith.

HOLY CATHOLIC Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I would say the best analogy would be from Gen 1:27-28 where singular God plural persons said let US make man in OUR image and 1 Thess 5:23 where singular man is three separate parts Body, Soul and Spirit

HOLY CATHOLIC Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Don't see male or female since only ONE GOD exists Hebrews 7:3
JLHPROF Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Don't see male or female since only ONE GOD exists Hebrews 7:3 Genesis 1:27 which you only quoted in part - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Women AND men are in the image of God. Either God is a hermaphrodite or both male and female images are part of Godhood. 1

Calm Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Males and females do have Body Soul and Spirits I believe, may be you don't believe that Since this was before Jesus' birth, you must mean that God the Father had a body. 2
