ERayR Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Since this was before Jesus' birth, you must mean that God the Father had a body. Won't work you are being too logical.
ERayR Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I'm a Scriptorian not biologist Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayy.
HOLY CATHOLIC Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 When it says US and OUR none had physical bodies, so 1 Thess fits perfectly Jesus was never the Son until the flesh Mosiah 15:3
JLHPROF Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Males and females do have Body Soul and Spirits I believe, may be you don't believe that Yes, but which are in the image of God - the males or the females? Adam or Eve? Which image does God have that was used to model these physical bodies - male or female? Edited January 23, 2015 by JLHPROF
HOLY CATHOLIC Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 The Book of Mormon or Bible does not teach, male or female but Father and Son sound like male
JLHPROF Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 The Book of Mormon or Bible does not teach, male or female but Father and Son sound like male You didn't answer the question. You quoted Genesis 1:27. I asked:Which are in the image of God - the males or the females? Adam or Eve? Which image does God have that was used to model these physical bodies - male or female? Simple question.
pogi Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Referring to what? When Christ told us to be 1 as He and the Father are 1, He meant that we are supposed to multiply ourselves together apparently. I just haven't quite figured out to do that yet given the laws of physics, but there must be a way as Christ commanded. Please enlighten us CATHOLIC, how do we multiply ourselves into the same oneness that the Father and Son have?

MormonFreeThinker Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Tertullian used the word in Trinity in its current meaning and he lived from 160 to 225.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tertullian My mistake, thanks. I am open minded Because most all Christian faiths trust the teaching of the Bible when it says this about Jesus:"16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." (Colossians 1) So, according to this, Jesus created Lucifer, and all things. Even intelligences. All things. I do not think that Jesus created the Ebola virus
thesometimesaint Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I do not think that Jesus created the Ebola virus Why not? The Scriptures say he created everything. Why exclude just what we perceive as bad stuff?
pogi Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I do not think that Jesus created the Ebola virus Here we go again...
ERayR Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Here we go again... I have him on ignore so just noticed. Tell him if he is going to hijack threads he will be reported.
danielwoods Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 My mistake, thanks. I am open minded I do not think that Jesus created the Ebola virus Your statement can't be taken too seriously. You might as well claim that Jesus created sin. Of course a very elementary understanding of the Bible tells us that God created our free will, by which he allows us to - not- choose him but to choose death. Thus, rejection of the creator results in death, as we all know. The reason that the statement from Colossians is pertinent to this topic, is because it demonstrates that the Jesus the LDS preach and believe in, isn't the creator of all things. Maybe that's where your statement stems from, I don't know?

Tacenda Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 You guys sound like danielwoods, he saidIn the LDS view, this is where they translated it wrong I guess. Any background on the context would be great, and maybe answering if it was translated incorrectly or not. .

Any background on the context would be great, and maybe answering if it was translated incorrectly or not. .There is no incorrect translation. Christ did create all things, and even participated in the creation of the the preexistent spirit children of God the Father. While it has not been revealed in scripture just how Christ participated in the creation of his Father's spirit children (I do know but cannot reveal what I know here because it is "strong meat."), the Book of Moses tells us that the Only Begotten (Christ) did participate in the heavenly creation of the spirits of men.By reading and understanding Moses 3, one comes to realize that the following verse from Moses 2 is speaking of the creation of the spirit sons and daughters of God. Observe how the preexistent Christ already exists and that the Father tells the Only Begotten Son, "let us make man in our image." So, as the scriptures testify, God the Father really did create ALL THINGS by "the word of his power" which is his Only Begotten Son ...26 And I, God, said unto mine Only Begotten, which was with me from the beginning: Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and it was so. And I, God, said: Let them have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Teancum Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I wonder if the thought has crossed anyone's mind here that neither Jesus's you are arguing for existed. Jesus the man was likely not any of what you are arguing about. Not what the EVs interpret Paul's letters as. Not what LDS interpret them as adding what Joseph Smith taught. Really it is almost like a how many angels can dance on the head if a pin argument. Go get a fun hobby. Running, cycling, golf, fishing, movies. Or give your time to a good charity. Habitat for Humanity or you local soup kitchen. The real Jesus would approve.

Teancum Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 why not ask Him? It's not exactly like He isn't speaking. Ask Jesus? I do. All the time. But he has been pretty quiet as of late. I will keep trying though. 2
Mars Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Yeah, Teancum. Those thoughts cross my mind from time to time. I remain strongly convinced of my path, both past and future. I am a little hard pressed for time, and truth be told I'm sure no one would measure up if every one who had a worthy cause made a demand of time, energy, and resources. There's only so much of me to go around. But I think you undersell the ability to know. I think it matters more what action that conviction spurs you to, but that's me. 1
