The state of bliss. Or perhaps blissful ignorance.

No disingenuousness on my part. But it is a little bit Tongue-in-Cheek. It sets up a double bind that no one can fulfill. Argument from Scripture is just a form of self-referential circular argument. You need to do better.

What exactly is better than God's word?

And that's not disingenuous how??? In all the times over the years that I or others have ever attempted to garner a thoughtful response from you it has never succeeded. You are set in your ways and can see no other truth than your own. Every once in a while I touch base with you to see if anything has changed - You are profoundly consistent.

It is a effort to get you to realize that your claim is unsupportable. I don't really want you to die, and I don't want anything bad to happen to you, to prove your claim.

Eyewitness accounts are the least accurate way of determining facts. The Ancient Greeks had eyewitness accounts of their Gods doing all sorts of mischievous things. Do you believe in Zeus? What physical evidence do you have that he was/is a God. A few centuries ago it was widely believed, and supported by eyewitness accounts, that witches had magic powers to fly around on broomsticks and torment young girls. What evidence do you have that witches do those things, other than eyewitness accounts in the courts of early Salem; Massachusetts? Do you believe that witches have those and other magic powers? If not why not? At one time it was widely believed that the moon was made of green cheese. What physical evidence do you have that the moon is made of green cheese? Any number of people have claimed to have had present day eyewitness accounts of seeing the virgin Mary doing miraculous things . Do you believe them, if not why not? What physical evidence do they present to support the claims?

Using Scripture, and or folk tales, to support a claim is self referential, and circular logic. It is of no value for those that don't hold your faith. IOW you need outside evidence to support any claim other than from belief.

This MB is totally voluntary. If you don't want to read mine, or the post of anyone else, you don't have to. If you choose to read them and respond, expect a return response.

I am very consistent, and have been as far back as I can remember. If you are going to make claims about the physical universe. Be prepared to support them with physical evidence of your claim. The ball, as they say, is in your court.

Before passing the ball, how about you play by your own rules and back up, though using spiritual evidence, your own claims (i.e. that Satan can't influence brain chemistry, and the claim you state is "just the opposite" of Samlams). Feel free to also back it up using physical evidence.

It is impossible to prove a negative. You can believe in miniature flying pink elephants; or little green men in flying saucers, doing sex experiments on you. Claiming you saw them doesn't constitute physical evidence. There is no way to prove they don't exist. But there is no present physical evidence for them. Isn't science wonderful.

Yes, and you can believe you are a reptilian shape-shifter operating within the Matrix, God's gift to women, Batman's sidekick, the face model for Alfred E. Newman, the smartest man in the world, and/or that you have made a valid counter-argument.

Yet, by suggesting that there is no way to prove a negative (which isn't entirely correct), not only have you conceded that there are limits to science, but you have placed your own claims outside those limits, and also given us good reason not to restrict ourselves to science and the physical. Isn't that wonderful?

However, I appreciate you tacitly admitting that you have no more physical evidence for your claim than Samlam, though, unlike you, he does have spiritual evidence for his claims.

Thanks.

Gallup has surveyed daily stress since 2008. Hawaii has ranked as the state with the lowest percentage all five years and is the only state to rank in the top five consistently since 2008.
Makes me wonder how good or useful of a measure this is.

If I understand it, it only measures how one feels yesterday as opposed to an ongoing state of being as well. Since one day can be an anomaly (say one is in a traffic accident or earthquake or bad weather or a mugging or a mormon bishop might come at one with a sword), plus it measure how one feels about stress without measuring actual stressors....not terribly impressed as to what it actually tells us.

Those aren't proofs of a negative. I can believe any of those things, but there is no evidence for them, and quite a bit against some of them.

I never said science doesn't have limits. It can't prove to me that your mother loves you. All it can do is provide evidence of her actions towards you. It can't prove that I like the taste of chocolate. All it can do is show the chemical changes in my brain that are usually associated with liking it. It can't prove that there is a God or Gods. But it can show that billions of people do believe in one of more gods or no Gods at all. Moreover the human brain ALWAYS goes to completion whether or not it is a correct conclusion or not. that is why :) works.

The 2012 statistical report is depressing to read. But I don't think I saw the info that higher elevations in states may lead to suicide also.

One statistical should be paid attention to imo by those who want to stop youth suicide and that is the difference between active, inactive, and nonLDS youth.
Suicide rates in LDS patients went down as their religious involvement went up.[9] Inactive LDS males experience a suicide rate roughly four times that of active LDS males. Non-LDS males experience a suicide rate roughly six times that of active LDS males.[10] This same research shows that U.S. white males (aged 20-34) had suicide rates two and one-half to seven times that of active LDS males of equal age. Active LDS males, aged 15–19, have an equal suicide rate to that of national rates.[11]

I didn't say they were. I was simply playing along with your game of "let's ascribe unflattering beliefs to our interlocutors." Wasn't that fun?

I can believe any of those things, but there is no evidence for them, and quite a bit against some of them.

That depends upon what one accepts as evidence.

I never said science doesn't have limits.

Okay. No one claimed that you had.

I appreciate you underscoring my point.
