Can you imagine the cost of food if undocumented workers were kicked out and the process wasn't changed? bluebell Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Hubby and I saw Jumanji and Star Wars this week. Jumanji was entertaining. I thought the first was better but it was still good. My opinion of the new Star Wars is...meh. My least favorite of the newest saga. I didn’t like the ending, thought parts were confusing, and like the story was way to ambitious for the time they had to tell it. Plus, it’s not nearly as funny as the first two. And they ignored some of the main characters and storylines they created in the last Jedi, which was annoying. 1

sunstoned Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 My wife and I had never seen Easy Rider. We were bored yesterday, so we rented it. I guess it is suppose to be a classic, but we both found it to be shallow, poorly written and produced. There was no plot, and the acting was also sub par. I wish I had my $3.99 and my hour and half back. 1

Many of those fans who hated Last Jedi like this new movie. Many of those who like Last Jedi are let down by Rise of Skywalker. This is evident from the Rotten Tomatoes scores. Last Jedi had a high critic score and a low audience score. The two scores are reversed with Rise of Skywalker. I myself kind of liked Last Jedi. With all of its flaws, I believe it to be the more interesting and original film of all the Disney Star Wars films. But now that the Skywalker Saga is over with, hopefully they can start doing something completely different and fresh with the franchise. Edited January 3, 2020 by Rivers 2

I also don't think you should change directors for a series like this so you have some continuity. The Harry Potter movies switched directors too and with those, I have a favorite 'style' in some of the movies that are not in others and I find my opinion on this differs greatly from other perspectives. I did here that they only wrote one movie at a time and that was a huge mistake in my opinion. The story is a huge mess and Rise is the result. 1

Made in Chekoslovakia in 1965(?) about a Jewish lady shop owner at the beginning of the Holocaust, and the "gentile" that was assigned to take over her shop when she was to be rounded up by the Nazis for removal to a camp. It's hard to even imagine what it must have been like to be Jewish in such times. It distresses me to read headlines of today about increased anti-Semitism in various areas... did we learn nothing? Wasn't sure I'd like it from the previews, but it has some awesome sentimental moments with her and her father etc. Nice to see such a good series with good values, amongst all the trash that's on TV. It chronicles his efforts to survive... he is the only actor for all but the very beginning... his efforts at survival show excellent seamanship and quiet determination... it has a dramatic ending... Rivers Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 (edited) I got around to watching Unplanned. I usually find Christian movies to be pretty terrible. This movie was from the same people that did God's Not Dead which was beyond terrible. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that Unplanned wasn't too shabby for a christian film. Probably because it was based on a book based on a true story. So it had good source material. The movie deals with the ever so controversial topic of abortion and many will likely see it as propaganda...which it is. But I thought it was well made. The lead actress does a decent job playing a person who has a change of heart over a period of time. Its fairs well as character study. The movie is very anti-abortion but probably won't convince the die-hard pro-choicers. But it might persuade some who are on the fence. Edited January 19, 2020 by Rivers 2
