Let the parents worry about it if their kids get sick, even if they are not smart.

If everyone else is wearing a mask too, it can significantly reduce the chances of transmission. 20 hours ago, T-Shirt said: Let the parents worry about it if their kids get sick, even if they are not smart. bsjkki Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Today, I am grateful to live in a county where the school play is allowed to be performed without masks. The kids voted. We are allowed to attend in person. My daughter is happy again after a bought of covid depression last year. She had a hard time with online school and all the covid quarantines. She wears a mask to school at times because she likes to ‘hide her face.’ This makes me sad. My county is mask free and has far lower rates of covid than our neighboring masked up counties. I’m very grateful to shop without a mask. My school board is determined to keep schools open. I am sad because an elderly ward member just died of covid. I have no idea of his vaxx status. My ward does not mask up and I have no idea how he caught covid. We did have quite a few Omicron cases run through families after the holidays. 1

It is people like you that lead to this. https://www.foxla.com/news/mothers-tragic-tale-husband-dies-of-covid-19-their-son-dies-by-suicide-due-to-guilt Should I blame health officials for this? https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33811706/ And this. https://news.yahoo.com/cdc-teen-suicide-attempts-surged-150834828.html You have no nuance. Many are recognizing the other deadly toll of covid. Something seemed fishy about your last post. Grateful for no masks at church...Then a death in your ward...how could he have possibly been infected, you ask. Nice bait and set-up. And now the snag. The comments about your daughters depression, the mask-less school play, etc. It is beyond obvious that you wrote that after reading the article about the boy with depression, the school pep rally...waiting to pounce with. Boy, it almost looks like you are doing exactly what you are accusing me of. Making me seem responsible. The fact is that we know masks and vaccines save lives. People are dying needlessly. Those who are celebrating going maskless during a surge, recklessly dismisses medical advice and prophetic counsel, need to reconsider. People are indeed being harmed and dying. I would say the same thing to anyone who celebrates drunk driving. Yes, suicides needs to be addressed. Lockdowns need to be reconsidered. But that is no reason to stop emphasizing the consequences of irresponsible behavior. Edited January 23, 2022 by pogi

CFR Why don’t you retract that. I’m a news junkie. Your comment absolutely infuriated me and I remembered the news article I read. No set up for you Pogi. I don’t know how this brother got covid. I am very sad he died. Do you want my Bishop’s number? Why don’t you ask him how he got it and if he was vaxxed. Do you want his health history. Maybe quiz his children? And no, I’m not going to use my daughters depression to ‘trick’ you. She’s happy. I am so happy she’s happy again. With Omicron, she would come home from school every day worried they were going to cancel the show. Yesterday she was so happy they could perform without masks. Edited January 23, 2022 by bsjkki 3

This is not the thread I hoped it would be. Fair enough. However, this whole thing turned out to be political and politics seeped into every thread, because of the politics surrounding it from the outside. Continuing to have conversation about the effects will perhaps let us recognize how this has been hijacked by politicians for their gain, at the expense of needed facts. We really need to dissect this once it is over to see what was good and what should be avoided if we have another pandemic. There were definitely winners and losers here and there needs to be a reconciliation as to what happened and why, without the threat of having something being shut down by our faceless, nameless moderators.

If defending the admonitions of our prophets and best medical experts makes me an ideologue, I guess I am an ideologue. What we need are fact followers. The medical community and our own prophets have admonished us to wear masks. In a time when hospitals are full and over 2,000 people are dying daily, it doesn't seem appropriate to be celebrating going mask-less at school and church. Then to turn it on me and say that "it is people like you" that is responsible for teenage suicides is beyond reprehensible. I can't believe people are defending that. This boy didn't die because of people like me defending masks and vaccines. No one accused this boy of killing his father. It was not based on guilt heaped upon him by another. The article didn't even mention masks or vaccines. The boy thought he might have been infected at school and felt guilty for inviting him to school. How could that possibly be blamed on "people like me"??? If that type of behavior is going to be defended here. Then I will not continue to be a part of this community. It has become toxic. Wether or not she baited me is not even really the offensive part. I think it is beyond evident that I was baited though. 19 hours ago, bsjkki said: I am sad because an elderly ward member just died of covid. I have no idea of his vaxx status. And the hook - It is people like you Pogi that is responsible for this: Quote Mother's tragic tale: Husband dies of COVID-19, their son dies by suicide due to guilt Reprehensible! To suggest that no one wears masks at church and she didn't know how he may have been infected? Come on? Set up all the way! The fact is, he very well may have been infected at church and we should be celebrating going massless at church contrary to the prophets counsel. That is a valid point. That hook was placed literally seconds after my post, complete with 3 links all ready to go (almost as if she had it all prepared). And surprise surprise, the link parallels her post perfectly about depression. I don't buy that it was coincidence. Either way, the set up was the least offensive part. I am done with this place for a while. I can't stand the celebrating masslessness in the face of all that is happening. Tactless and intentionally agitating. Well done. It worked. I am out. Do you support censoring differing opinions from other doctors and scientists if those differing opinions disagree with your narrative? Don't you think it's healthy to question certain scientific dogmas that are out there? The CDC recently said cloth masks are basically worthless. Yet it was the supposed scientific consensus for the last two years. The vaccines don't do much for omicron. Yet, they were promised to stop the spread by the media and didn't for delta or any of them. Other treatments were censored and doctors who dare prescribe them are being threatened by their medical boards. I wonder if pharma is involved here. This looks like it is just trying to defeat the competition.

The current recommendation is to continue to wear masks, and to get vaccinated. The prophets have made the same admonition. To celebrate going massless at a time when millions upon millions of Americans have been adversely affected by Covid and in the middle of the biggest outbreak in history, and in the face of a death in the ward (where no one is wearing masks), is beyond tactless and intentionally agitating (knowing where many of us stand here). These are real people. While that attitude is agitating, I can tolerate it. It is the blaming people like me for teenage suicide for suggesting that it is very possible that this ward member was exposed to Covid at church that took it over the top for me. That is beyond unacceptable behavior. Edited January 23, 2022 by pogi 2
