Eh, I'll rate that as a 6, maybe a 7, out of a possible 10.  Not the worst you could have said but you could have given an even better explanation.

Congratulations!  You got it mostly correct!

I rate your wife as a 10. She's really pretty and you guys look happy together.

She is a 10 and we are very happy together and if you would like to say anything else that is true I would be happy to hear it.

I wasn't kidding, that was a compliment. And you do you look happy together. Compliments are free from me man, I have no problem handing them out. Especially around the holidays. By the way, your welcome.

Creepy

I think its creepy ahab rated a conversation I had with my daughter without knowing me or ever talking to me before. He could of said, hey mike how you doing, then proceeded with mocking me and saying that what I told my daughter was a halfars answer. I guess we interpret the meaning as creepy differently.

I thought about saying "Thank you" for pointing out something that is true but then I thought and wondered what I would be thanking you for.  I don't think I'm the one who made my wife a 10 or who caused me to be happy with her.

I think you should feel free to point out something that is true whenever you want to do that, here or anywhere else you go.  I like it when people do that.  So I suppose I could say I appreciate it when you do that and thank you for that.

In all honesty I didnt like what you wrote, I kinda felt like you probably think I'm a troll like everyone else does, so instead of trying to fight back, I offered you a sincere compliment. Merry Christmas.

The rating I gave was relative to the level or degree of intelligence in the message you gave to your daughter, based on my knowledge of additional things you could have told her, which you did not mention, which would have made your message even better.

The fact that you had that type of conversation with your daughter is something I would rate as a 10 out of 10.

No mocking was included or intended.

I liked and still like how you handled the situation, especially now that I know you did not like what I said.

Which is what I wrote above: 'The word "damnation" is mainly used by non-Restoration Christian as a substitute for the word "hell", or eternal burning. Or, at least that's how I see it. It doesn't have a meaning in the Gospel taught by the Latter-day Saints, except to wire it up to non-progression.'

Absolutely correct!

Hey! My hometown is in Washington state! I'm just in England now because of other reasons...

But even in Seattle we sometimes see the sun, so it isn't always outer darkness! Actually, my hometown is Olympia. I'll have to invoke the other Washingtonian to this thread: @Bernard Gui!!

Seattle is a great place.........................to see in your rearview mirror as you are leaving. It's gone totally bonkernanas.

Someone from the Seattle WA just bought my house in Kalama WA so I am thankful she had the good sense to get out of there and pay me so much money in cash for my house.  Next stop, a suburb of Portland OR.

Please pray for me.  Please.

Sounds like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.  Portland? the site of extremist antifa agitation?  Won't you be better off moving to east side of Washington/Oregon?

I work in downtown Portland, for the City of Portland, as an accountant, so I'm kind of stuck living near Portland until I retire.  Or at least that is the plan that I think I should try to stick to.  Plus I have a lot of family in the Portland area.

Well then we live in two different worlds then raingirl. Because everyday I tell my wife she pretty, because she is, she's a smoking hot Filipino that gets prettier everyday. I have daughters that if not everyday, atleast 5 times a week, I tell them they're the most beautiful women I've ever seen. And I'll keep doing it because that's what men should do because the harshest critics of women are women, most are down right mean to each other, never handing out compliments to each other because their own self esteem is to low. Back in the day men complimented women all the time without women thinking it was creepy. But apparently today some women think its creepy. The fact that you dont like me giving ahab's wife a compliment says more about you than me.

By the way, my wife and daughters have none of the self esteem issues so many young women are dealing with today. For some reason they know their beautiful. Maybe its because I've been telling them ever since they came into my life. But I could be wrong.

Still no sure if you guys think that the terrestrial kingdom (even though it's a kingdom of glory, part of heaven) is a place for souls that have been damned. Me personally, I think when a mormon hears the word "damned" we automatically think 👹👿🔥🔥🔥🔥. To me, damned or destroyed, in our scriptures/theology  means the end of eternal progression/eternal family, because eternal progression is everything to mormons. We don't knock on doors so people can go to the terrestrial kingdom, we dont knock on doors so people can become a member of the church and live just a ok life, we knock on doors so people can accept baptism and ultimately make it to the celestial kingdom as an exalted being, are soul purpose here on earth is to make it back to the celestial kingdom so we can glorify our heavenly father, there's nothing else in our beliefs that state we are shooting for a different outcome. So to me the terrestrial kingdom more closely resembles outer darkness because in both you've fallen short, lost your eternal family, lost eternal progression. The way I see it is outer darkness is Seattle (like star gazer said above, dark and gloomy), telestial Kingdom would be Spokane, the terrestrial would be Florida and the celestial would be the Bahamas 🌴. No hell fire anywhere in site. I'm sorry if I offended anyone who lives in Washington state with this post😁

I think the jury is still undecided about whether the judgement meted out to us on the so-called Day of Judgment will be the limit to how much we will be able to progress throughout all of eternity.  It could just be how we rate at that particular moment, with some of us having progressed further than some others of us at that point.  Glory is all about intelligence.. the glory of God is intelligence... and some of us will simply be more intelligent than others of us at that moment and God will simply be acknowledging that.  But that won't necessarily mean others with less intelligence at that moment will never catch up.  We're told that those with greater glory will minister to those with less glory, so I see some hope in thinking it may never be too late to make more intelligent choices.

I do have a friend Charlie and if I see him in the afterlife there's a good chance I'm in hell.🤣🤣

Or that he repented and is in the same heaven where you are.  Which begs the question, how will we determine for sure which heaven (or part of heaven) we are in when we get there?

Running around looking for someone who will answer to the name of Jesus may not produce the desired effects.

The rating system of women’s beauty/value with numbers is a result of boys and juvenile men who view women as physical objects that exist for their pleasure, something of less value if not upper numbers.  Use of the scale supports the idea that women should live in a constant beauty pageant dependent on the approval of men. Calling one woman 10 means there are other women who are 1s (it is a scale of comparison). I am not saying everyone who does it now thinks that way, but I would suggest women would generally appreciate hearing compliments based in less sexist reasoning.

If you want to say a woman’s beautiful, then please use the word beautiful, not the number rating system.

Why on earth would you move from Seattle to Portland? Most of us want desperately to get out of these madhouses.

The fact that I don’t like you putting a numerical rating on the looks of a woman you don’t know (and another man’s wife) simply says I recognize your creepiness and misogyny.

I don't know if what you say about women not "thinking it was creepy" to be complimented on their looks "back in the day" is true or not.  Perhaps you simply are unaware of the fact that they thought it was creepy.  Women are much more assertive now than they used to be, so perhaps they're much more likely to tell you how they really feel than they used to be.  (And I think that, overall, that's certainly a good thing.  I would hate the idea that someone feels she simply must suffer in silence because of something I say or do.)

And I think how a compliment is delivered can make a huge difference.  If I tell a female coworker or ward member or friend, "You look very nice today," or "That's a very nice [article of clothing: dress/skirt/blouse/what-have-you]," and I say it sincerely, and not in a way that causes her to think, "Yeah, right!  He probably just wants to [use your imagination here] with me," while others' mileage may vary, to me, that's a very different thing than, "Hey, Dude, you know what?  I think your  wife is a 10! / hot / whatever-have-you."

Perhaps I'm simply another on that endless list of clueless, misogynistic, chauvinistic guys, but I think there's a huge difference between the two.  And if I wanted to give someone a sincere compliment about his wife, I certainly wouldn't do it a Rick Springfield, "Jessie's Girl" way.  I once saw a picture of a coworker's wife on his desk and asked, "Is this your wife?"  Hearing an affirmative answer, I said simply, "You married very well."

Just a word to the wise ... or not.  It's up to you.
