BYU made their bed now they have to lie in it, the students didn't change anything, BYU did Nothing changed other than some wording. If those who decided to do immoral things during that two weeks then it's on them not BYU. Perhaps BYU didn't go about the changes the right way but nonetheless if one was obeying the law of chastity they had nothing to worry about. In a way it actually turned out the right way because now we know we have a problem at BYU with uncharted behaviors and know what we need to change going forward. As a church, as leaders, we aren't doing a good enough job of teaching same sex behavior being wrong with our children and youth. And, amongst the professors and folks in other positions at BYU we know that the liberal agenda is affecting the school and it's time to do something about it.

God created homosexuality and it's not going away, two apostles have gay relatives in their immediate families, one member of the Presidency of the Seventy has a gay married niece. We've seen too much of the conservative agenda and where are we now? high rates of inactivity, dropping baptismal rate, gaslighting, love thy neighbor seems to be a thing of the past- maybe it's time to listen to what God wants? Sound good? 3

That's what seperates homosexuality from heterosexuality, options. I couldn't in 85 billion lifetimes have relations with a man but the same couldn't said be for a gay man with a woman Edited March 8, 2020 by Duncan

longview Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 28 minutes ago, Calm said: Do you think God created your feelings and ideas or your actions? For sure, God created our tests. If we can keep our passions within the bounds that HE has set, then we will obtain the ultimate ideal. This means we will need to remain chaste and/or choose celibacy if that is what it will take. There are plenty of people throughout time that have suffered greater trials than this.

I’m wondering why you and others in the church seem to know exactly what God wants, and yet the 15 men, who we sustain as prophets, seers, and revelators, who council together, pray fervently over this very issue, can’t seem to come to the same conclusion as you? I remember Elder Packer gave a talk, maybe early 80’s/late 70’s saying how even then he would get letter from gays in the church, petitioning for change. This isn’t a new issue. It’s been ongoing for decades. Working on loving and accepting our gay members? Check. But zero sign of change for changing the position on homosexual activity. Even the 1978 revelation had numerous “hints” in the decades leading up to it that it was coming. Many of the brethren knew it was coming. David O McKay petitioned the Lord, and was told it wasn’t the time yet. IF we believe they are prophets, seers, and revelators, I just don’t see how the Lord remains silent on this issue. That the brethren are praying over this issue, and the heavens are shut. It’s seems pretty clear He has made his position known. 1

The Dr. said if this 2 month meds don't work, then most likely I am off to a neurologist which may mean surgery. We'll see 2

sunstoned Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 (edited) Duncan, I agree with you. Scientific research overwhelming concludes that sexual orientation is biological. In other words, you are born with your orientation. Even the church now acknowledges this. Past leaders were just speaking as men. Edited March 8, 2020 by sunstoned 2

If those who have differing views, liberal views leave the church thats on them and hopefully they will come back. We are led by sound moral and Holy prophets. God bless them for not backing down to the world and it's ever increasing evil ways.
