And he's a seminary teacher. I guess I'm quick to judge him here, but he gives me the creeps.

His talk about teaching youth to be warriors in a literal way iirc bothered me a great deal. He glorifies violence imo.  (it has been several months since I listened and read quotes, but it is probably posted here somewhere so I may search it out)

Iirc, he was also disciplined for asking a woman out when he had stopped her for a traffic violation.

I didn’t see any evidence that would make me suspect he had anything to do with the murders.  Just sounds like another kook associated withthe Daybells.  Big surprise there!

He really should be reported to the church if it is true he “sealed” them in the temple.  That could be grounds for excommunication.  We don’t need that kind of apostate evil happening in our most sacred temples.

Also a believer in multiple mortal probations shouldn’t be teaching seminary.

There was speculation that Mow was the connection the Coxes had into the two Arizona police departments which led to Charles being ignored and then poor follow up on the killing (including a cop cleaning up the blood before forensics got there), but seems like Mow wasn’t that appreciated and it had been a number of years since he had worked in the area (13 years?), so I have my doubts. Still who knows as I am not familiar with actual cop culture and it probably varies among different depts to a great deal.

PS:  seen his name spelled several different ways. Need to check on his FB.

Somehow a computer glitch announced Lori Cox Vallow had been released. She has not.

Someone playing around and accidentally hitting send?  I wonder.

Added:  changing inmates’ info over to a new system, the old system registered them as released apparently when their name was removed from it.

Also clearing up a misstatement on Nancy Grace that is upsetting a lot of people so in case you don’t see the correction:

This morning in an interview with Nancy Grace I misspoke when I said Tylee Ryan was dismembered BEFORE she died. It is true that this beautiful teenage girl was dismembered, but court documents released thus far do not indicate when that happened. The interview was at 6:30 am and sleep has been hard to come by lately (Still - not an excuse). I didn’t even know I had said it until many of you reached out to me. I apologize for the confusion and misinformation! I will watch my words more carefully.

I read that, but then, I think it's not right. I  remember reading about why Jason Mow was let go from the police, and I think he wasn't the one who did that, I think he was let go for sloppy paperwork and poor reviews. I think someone mixed up details of a report of him and another officer,  and attributed that to him and it's been shared around. I'd have to re research it to be sure, but just wanted to caution that it may not be accurate.

That speculation was rampant about Mow helping fix the investigation,  but I don't believe it, Mow had little influence and no pull, he'd been gone a decade, wasn't there very long, imo. But it sounded worth considering.  But I think the only explanation for the closing of Charles Vallow shooting was just wanting to shut the case and move on. They didn’t bother to check the history of the couple and did they even check on Alex to find out he'd spent 90 days in jail for attacking Lori's former husband? Not thoroughly looked into, imo, the police didn't want to bother.

Edited to add, Lori seemed different from the druggies and low lifes they usually deal with,  I think subconsciously she got kid glove treatment from police.

I don’t believe the case was ever actually closed, but it seemed that people acted that way. There is nothing said about Tylee or others being questioned again. And as you point out doesn’t appear they crossed checked with other places.

Thanks for the correction of the mistaken claim of harassment at a traffic stop. I agree about the speculation about his influence being unlikely. Hope I made that clear.

The websleuths timeline says that Melanie Gibb, a podcaster, met Chad at a summer campout in 2017 and invited him to come speak in Arizona; a year later Chad contacted her and asked if she could arrange for him to come talk about his new book-- she arranged for Chad and Jason Mow to speak at this.  I wonder if this is when Jason Mow was brought into Chad's circle (July 2018).

https://www.websleuths.com/forums/threads/id-joshua-vallow-7-tylee-ryan-17-rexburg-sept-2019-4.494009/

There was a post on another forum, says that Melanie Gibb was a temple worker in the Gilbert, Arizona temple and that Jason Mow and Chad Daybell were very popular speakers in Arizona.  If they were actually doing 'sealings' of some sort, it could have been facilitated only if they had help from temple workers.  I'm not accusing Melanie, but just suggesting that it could have been done, if Chad had sympathetic friends/believers in his 'gifts',  who served in a temple.  Temple workers could allow them access to temple rooms.  I agree, I hope that church leaders are really looking into what might have been going on in Arizona, and possibly in other temples as well.

Interesting.

I suppose they could have had inside help from temple workers to get private access to a sealing room, but I kind of doubt that.  I guess it is possible that they were allowed some private time in one without the temple worker knowing what they were doing in there.  I was thinking that they were sealed covertly in a celestial room, through whispering.  I don't think a sealing room is required for sealings to happen, as they have historically happened without a temple at all.  Sealings have been performed in the Council House, the Endowment House, and even on the second floor of Brigham Young's office.

Immediately a memory came to mind. When I was in second grade I liked a boy, and remember his glasses were broken but were held together with a bandaid/or tape lol, and some of the classmates decided that I should marry him. So at recess we went to a house next to the playground and had the "ceremony". But we got busted and we had to go to the principal's office. Funny that this memory popped up in my head, I wonder if it's because Chad, Lori and even Melanie, acted like they were in grade school, to me, with their little romance escapade. And Chad and Lori couldn't decipher what is real life and what is fake, and innocent children and adults died because of it.

I love it!

Only this time the principal's office is lifetime in prison and excommunication.

I agree, since hearing of this story, I've felt that they've acted impetuously and immaturely.

It's the last day of June of 2020, and this terrible story continues.

They (Rexburg) did another search on the house yesterday.  So appear to be still finding stuff about the kids

They haven’t even begun to act publicly on any info on Tammy, Charles, or Alex’s deaths. Then there is Joseph Ryan. Add in the child custody suit of her niece, Melanie and the attempted murder of her exhusband, Brandon....this is going to last a long time I am guessing.

However, come July 23 maybe something or someone might break.

Very true, but my husband sometimes jokes, by the way the world looks...pandemic, earthquakes etc., come July 22nd Chad and Lori will be floating on up to the sky with their flock,  and the rest burned to a crisp...not quite in those words. I guess kidding like this helps us cope. We're weird.

So I'm having difficulty keeping up with all of the developments in this case.

1. Lori Vallow was arrested months ago for refusing to comply with a court order compelling her to produce her children (and "child abandonment" charges?).  Now that the bodies of her children have been found, the legal impetus for keeping her incarcerated under the contempt of court charge (to induce her to comply with the court order) seems largely gone.  So the prosecutor will likely need to charges in order to keep her in custody.  Sure enough, a quick check shows that she has just recently been charged with "two counts of conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence."

2. Chad Daybell was charged a few weeks ago with "two felony counts of destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence."  This is in relation to the kids' remains.  If convicted of these charges (based on Idaho Code sec. 18-2603) "Daybell would face a maximum of five years in the state penitentiary or up to $10,000 fine for each charge. The sentences could run consecutively or concurrently."

3. Based on cell phone tracking evidence, it appears increasingly clear that Alex Cox either killed the kids or was involved in their deaths and in disposing of their bodies.  Given his previous shooting of Charles Vallow, the characterizations of him as Lori Vallow's "enforcer" seem to be getting more traction.

Have I missed anything significant?

Thanks,

Not for the case of JJ and Tylee’s death.  Daybell was charged after the remains of the kids’ bodies were found on his property.

There is other stuff going on in a child custody case that provides context through what is being claimed in the court documents to their deaths and the other deaths and the attempted murder that are not being prosecuted yet (assuming they will be), but that stuff is not directly involved in current charges.

Looks about right! I just hope they get more than 5 years, and they are found guilty of being accomplices. Or maybe the autopsies will show that Alex and Tammy Daybell's deaths were homicides.

Lori is going to be in court today at 4:30 pm because of these new charges. https://www.fox13now.com/news/local-news/lori-vallow-daybell-due-in-court-tuesday-on-new-evidence-charges?fbclid=IwAR2U0WLW6iHlJbLZidn1SAWipassac33lKXEs2GIddLi7itrHgX6o4H5_MI

I just watched Lori Vallow's live courtroom appearance to hear the new charges. Her son Colby and his wife were watching via Zoom. Lori seemed stalwart until Chad Daybell's name was mentioned and then she was dabbing her eyes with a Kleenex. She said she understood the charges, bail is set at a million dollars and the preliminary hearing was set for August 10th, I think. There was a disagreement between the Prosecutor and the defense attorney about whether Lori's attorney had represented Chad Daybell at any point (Defense says no, prosecutor says yes).

That is weird. Media was all reporting Means as his lawyer. People were speculating that was so the two could share private communications between them, Chad would have more control over Lori, they didn’t have enough money for two, etc.

I think Chad is more likely to break. I think he lost it when the bodies were found and even though he knew it was hopeless, couldn’t stop himself from running.  Lori at times almost looks like she has enjoyed the attention or something.  I see Lori as more smitten and Chad more needy on wanting to be liked (based on two conversations he had, one with a reporter another with a woman in a parking lot in Hawaii) after she was arrested.

But that is pure guessing, who knows. He was the one that had the nerve to live in a house with bodies buried in the back.

Just watching the hearing. Had to stop when Colby looked in pain when JJ’s name was mentioned. I get why they want to have a presence for the victims and he and his wife are brave to be willing to be the ones shown publicly (Woodcocks were present zoomwise as well), but man that is not what I want to see. Bad enough imagining it.

Finished watching it. That was very strange with Means saying he didn’t represent Daybell. From what was said, the disagreement may be him thinking it means criminally rather than any representation.

Poor Colby.
