"Saving Alex" - a gay conversion therapy experience

Well, I think this represents about the worst that can happen when we take our religious zeal too far, especially in regards to LGBT issues.  I can only hope that stories like this represent the exception and not the rule in our LDS communities.  Nobody should have to endure what Alex did because we want them to be straight.

Whatever your stance is on the LDS Church's doctrinal positions of proper moral and/or sexual behavior, I hope we can all agree that Alex's parents should have responded differently.  They should not have kicked her out of her home and sent her off to this so-called "therapy."  

FYI - Alex now has a girlfriend and has left the Church.  So we can see the results!

That is honestly one of the coolest twists on doctrine I've ever heard.  Obviously, if a child doesn't live worthily to stay with their family in the Celestial Kingdom, the family shouldn't be punished.  Surely a merciful God would provide an identical replacement child to fill that spot ( one that acts as if they were righteous).

A copy of that person would yield the same person as the one that was not worthy of the Celestial Kingdom.  Why bother making the copy and stick with the original.

I thought that option went away when the board software was "upgraded."

I couldn't figure out how to do it.  The mods will have to do it, I guess.
