I am surprised no one has mentioned the Book of Mormon. :search:

Maybe it would be a favorite book translated by a Latter-day-Saint?

I haven't read many. One of these years I need to read Orson Scott Card.

I would have to say that my favorite is Offenders For a Word, by Daniel Peterson.

Ender, baby!

You should read it.  I read it 55 - 60 years ago.

The 300 page Ancient American Setting and the 800 page Mormon's Codex.

Because, I enjoy killing trees imported from Mesoamerica.

Top five:

The Life and Thought of Orson Pratt by Breck England

Joseph Smith: Rough Stone Rolling by Richard Bushman

The Mormon Hierarchy: Origins of Power by D. Michael Quinn (though I believe it was published after his excommunication, so maybe it doesn't count)

Mormonism in Transition by Thomas Alexander

Lectures on Faith by Joseph Smith or Sidney Rigdon

I finished "Odds Are You're Going To Be Exalted" and I feel better about life.

Ok you did talk me into that one....mainly cause I'd rather be exalted than know where any red fern grows :)

The Way of Kings series (2 books so far) by Brandon Sanderson. Standing on the Promises trilogy by Margaret Blair young and Darius Gray.

The Way of Kings and the Mistborn Saga equally. Brandon Sanderson is an excellent LDS author.

Was Wilson Rawls a Mormon? News to me, if so.

I'm currently reading 'Odds Are You're Going To Be Exalted' and it's my favorite book by far. I also like The Miracle of Forgiveness by Spencer W Kimball.

I have that "Odds are" book, and it's nice and all, but I don't know how seriously to take the author.  Is this sound doctrine or personal opinion?  Skousen's not the author, so the "BS" joke won't work, but...

Approaching Zion by Hugh Nibley.

Very good book, indeed.

Jesus the Christ (Talmage)

Believing Christ (Robinson)

Understanding the Book of Mormon (Hardy)

The God Who Weeps (Givens)  --  *Although I haven't finished it yet so I guess there is the possibility that something in the latter half of the book will change my mind.  But I doubt it.
